SkateX, the debut game of a new developer, Studio Tackle. It is a free-to-play MMO video game that integrates the blockchain so players can truly own their digital gear. NFTs, such as streetwear and boards, are then used for the game itself, so you can express yourself in-game with style!
Studio Tackle also announced a Coast2Coast collection. The collection is a joint effort between an as-yet-unknown artist and debuts the next week with 1,500 longboards and 1,500 normal boards. This new massive multiplayer online (MMO) game promises players an “immersive and extreme” experience. There is no announced release date for the game as of now, but you can start staking and minting their NFTs to support the project.
Streetwear NFTs: Streetwear is at the forefront of today’s fashion fads, and being able to style your character similarly is impressive to me.
Free-to-play: With such a promising project like this, You’d think you need to spend some to play, but it’s announced to be a free-to-play game.
Big Names in Skateboarding on-board: (pun intended) Stevie Williams is involved in the project as the project’s advisor.
Researching for new games to play, I stumbled upon SkateX. It didn’t interest me much at first while reading the description, but then I opened their website. The website blew me away, seeing as how it has a lot of streetwear/skater feel and interactive features, hooking me almost immediately. It was fun navigating through the site, seeing how it all works out, and the cool boards I could get.
I was also researching more about it and found a commercial for SkateX, which I’m not sure if it’s from the developers at all. This commercial was kind of weird, in a good way. It seems to have real effort put into the production, so I’m guessing it’s the devs. If it’s not, then kudos to who made it. The video link is here: SkateX Commercial if you want to watch it yourself.
I’ve also heard that the legendary pro skateboarder and the founder of the skate brand DGK, Stevie Williams joined the project as an advisor. Doing this will definitely steer the project in the right way when you’re tackling a skating-centric game. I am excited to see what they can do with the skateboard legend.
SkateX has already released a way to mint their NFTs and added a stake and claim system. Investing in the game would get you exclusive rewards, such as a 1/1 skateboard, rare airdrops, and a guaranteed distribution of their token, GRIND.
SkateX definitely is quite the exciting project idea. Streetwear and skateboarding are a massive part of today’s generation, and even joining forces with skate legends will surely put this project on top of the hype for upcoming P2E games. I definitely love the art style for the game, and it’s different from all the other games I’ve played so far in the blockchain space.
It definitely has the potential to be one of the top projects to be released. There’s a lot of effort and creativity poured into the art, and I will definitely have high expectations for when it is released. Based on what I’ve seen, the project shows a lot of promise. I won’t get ahead of myself and tell you that this game will be a 10/10 P2E game (although I hope it will be), but I will tell you that it has the potential to be the next big thing for the blockchain.
