Bitcoin (British: Bitcoin) is a decentralized digital currency that does not have a central bank or a single administrator. Transactions can be made by sending bitcoins to users[9][10][11][12]. The transaction is verified by network nodes[13], and all Bitcoin transaction history is recorded in a distributed ledger called blockchain[9][14].
Bitcoin was invented in 2008 by a person or group calling himself Satoshi Nakamoto[15], its implementation was released as open source software, and its use began in 2009.
