Karma Head x Matlakas

WHO IS KARMA HEAD?

Karma Head is a female musician trying to find a Calmer-Head. The purpose-made NFT Album will be the first and only of it’s kind.

And no, I am not just saying that because everyone else does…

The project took a total of 18 months and the NFT Release will mark Karma Head’s Debut. In a world where musicianship can sometimes fall short, production can fall short or the songs themselves can fall short, Karma Head does things with a difference. The reason it took 18 months is because that’s how long it takes when craft comes before all of the other stuff.

I didn’t want to make a record that sounded the same as everything else out there. Imitating my idols wasn’t going to work either.

I wanted to write something original, that has a conscience with a real message. Everything you hear on the “Plastic World” album was done organically with no edits, auto-tune or plug-ins. I wrote and produced the album from a production perspective, with the intent create an original sound world unique to karma head. my background as a classical composer, jazz pianist and rock musician influenced the thematic development of the work. I’m not discrediting the digital age, there’s just something about organic writing and analog that digital can’t capture and that’s human spirit.

KARMA HEAD X MATLAKAS Artwork

The artwork for the NFT is a combination of physical paintings which form the subjects of the generative pieces, by the artist, Matlakas. His vast paintings and iconic themes form the visual framework for the generative pieces. Matlakas and Karma Head collaborated to curate and individual painting that has a clear message for each song from the album.

NFTs

In a digital world, there is often an element of intangibility. The Karma Head album and the Matlakas artworks were made with love and dedication to our crafts. For us, it’s not about being manufactured- for us Uniqueness and originality is rare and stands the test of time.

In an age where attention spans are growing more minute by the millisecond, and many want everything at once, we don’t dance to that tune. Equivocally, true appreciation still exists, people value the creative process and the message of art. After all, without art, life is to be without soul and emotion – the things that unite us as human beings.
