I got into crypto in December 2017 due to the peak crypto mania everywhere by buying $LTC around $300 and kept averaging it down till $250. And then bought $XRP at $3 and $ETH at $1400 and BTC at $19k.
In addition to buying at the top I kept selling whenever it dips and rebuying higher eventually selling everything when BTC dumped to around $6k thinking that this could dump even further and slept for the night. Seems like that was the only night I had good sleep for that week, guess why?
Because next day when I woke up all coins I sold pumped around 10% but I thought they will dump soon instead they kept pumping hard for the next 4days straight after which I eventually bought the stack I sold after a 50-60% rally.
I was lucky enough that even after I bought they rallied another 30-40% up but I didn’t sell thinking it goes higher after which everything dumped hard. I kept selling low and buying high which made me lost most of my money.
You all know what happened after May 2018 rally. I stopped looking at my portfolio for a while but later got introduced to Masternodes and then mining then leverage trading. So, tried those with additional money to eventually lose it all.
I started buying BTC around $10k area and ETH around $200 in end of 2019/early 2020 but dumped it all at more than 50% loss in the March 2020 covid dump. Apart from that started shorting bitcoin with some BTC thats left with me from $6K which got liquidated around $10k.
After that deposited more USD and started shorting btc with USDC which got liquidated at $20K and finally thats where I stopped leverage trading.
And I didn’t stop there as usual bought bunch of alts around May 2021 top which got dumped more than 80% and the cycle continues.
Now I no longer sell any assets that were down 90-99% instead just hoping for a mega alt season like 2017 whenever it happens hopefully before early 2022 so I can atleast make it all back what I lost with some more profits so I can keep continuing in crypto space.
My sincere advice to new people in crypto to not over invest and try to learn some basic technical analysis where you can use High Time Frame levels to enter/exit trades and don’t keep fomoing for every small move in Low Time Frame. Also, better start buying in bear markets when volatility is low and keep an eye on new trends. Also, try to interact with new protocols which could earn some airdrops in bull market.
