Moving from Lamden Wallet to Lamden Vault

It’s moving day folks — pack your bags and load up the truck. We’re here to walk current users through the steps to transition your legacy accounts to the new Lamden Vault. If you prefer video, check out the video guide from LamdenGirl. We recommend you set aside some quiet time so you can focus and not be rushed when going through these steps.

Okay then, lets get started:

1 After logging into the new Lamden Vault, click CREATE VAULT.

2 Click VIEW SECRET RECOVERY PHRASE.

3 Copy your secret recovery phrase and store it in a safe location(s). This is a very important step as these 24 words are how you will be able to restore your account in the future (ex. if your computer crashes). Once ready, click NEXT.

4 You’ll be prompted to fill in the blank spaces to ensure that you properly documented/saved your secret phrase. When ready, click NEXT.

5 You’re reminded one last time about the importance of backing up your recovery phrase as this is the ONLY way to restore your Vault in the future. When ready, click I UNDERSTAND.

6 Congrats! You should now have a shiny new Vault account.

The subsequent steps are optional but encouraged. If you choose to keep your Legacy Accounts, then an important reminder that you’ll need to continue backing up via Account Settings -> Backup Wallet to download and save the keystore somewhere safe (along with the keystore password).

If you choose to move your Legacy Account(s) to the Lamden Vault, then a few things to note before we get started:

After reading the above and you’ve decided you still want to proceed, here’s the steps:

7Under the “Legacy Accounts” section, start by expanding your first legacy account. Click the first token under My Tokens (or if you don’t have any tokens, then click Send TAU).

TIP: If your new Lamden Vault and one of your Legacy Accounts have the exact same nickname (ex. My Lamden Account), then consider giving one account a new nickname so it’s easier to delineate between the two. To change the nickname, click into the account -> select Options -> Edit Account Nickname. Save yourself a headache.

8 If you began by clicking a non-TAU token, then the next step is to click TRANSFER. Select the ONE OF MY ACCOUNTS tab. Verify the From Address is accurate and your new Lamden Vault account is selected in the To Address drop-down. Click the Max button and then NEXT. You’ll be prompted to confirm your transaction.

9 You can now either click HOME or NEW TRANSACTION.

10 You can delete legacy accounts after you’ve moved all your tokens to the Lamden Vault. That said, it doesn’t hurt to save a keystore backup (and your keystore password) in case you ever want to recover the account in the future. Better to be safe than sorry!
