Everyone’s talking about Call of Duty Warzone 1 shutting their servers down. But no one is talking about how this means billions of dollars in in-game items (skins, weapons, equipment, etc) will literally disappear overnight.
These are items that millions of gamers have bought, that cannot be sold or transferred to any other Warzone game.
How this is anything short of a robbery, we don’t understand. But this clearly highlights why games need to go on-chain. It would be a very different scenario if this was a web3 game.
If this game was on-chain, players would be able to truly own their in-game items and easily sell them to other players. And interoperability would let players use their items across multiple games.
