Smart contract (also known as actors in filecoin) can provide intelligent and dynamic storage solutions, but it is difficult to implement using the existing web2 technology. Examples include:
Decentralize the data stored in filecoin (calculate directly in the data storage space without transferring data)
Save crowdfunding data sets (everyone stores important social data, such as crime statistics or environmental warming data)
Smarter storage market (e.g., dynamic pricing of storage by time, replication level, or regional availability)
Cross generational storage and permanent hosting (e.g. storage of data that will be circulated and used for generations)
Create data Dao and data set validation (for example, establish economic model for data storage validation, and establish Dao to calculate and coordinate it)
Local storage of NFT (for example, coexisting the content of NFT with the registry that tracks its content)
Time locked data retrieval (for example, unlock this dataset only when the company publishes the results)
Mortgage loans (e.g. providing loans to storage suppliers, such as accepting fil + transactions from specific customers and trading at specific points in time)
…
Smart contracts can also allow developers to build bridges across bridges, achieve interoperability, share mobility, integrate dapps deployed on other chains (such as Ethereum, near, Solana, flow, etc.) with filecoin networks, and provide storage functions.
Store as layer0
At present, filecoin platform is the center of data storage and retrieval. We believe that these two features make the filecoin network layer 0 of the protocol.
