My mother was a very cherished person. There are many old things in the house that she is reluctant to throw away.
Looking at the huge home, some things have even been used for more than 30 years. A small square table for eating has been around for as long as I can remember, and my mother is still reluctant to replace it with a new one. The small square table was covered with mottled traces of fleeting years, pitted, and even a little shaky. I was always worried that while I was eating, it would suddenly fall over and end its long mission. I always thought that those potholes and cracks must be full of bacteria. The most unbearable thing for me is that if a grain of rice falls on the table while eating, my mother will pick it up quickly and eat it.

Last year, my father renovated the house. But my mother refused to throw away anything. The brand-new home was littered with many years old things, which seemed so out of place. Especially in the wardrobe, the layers of old clothes are stuffed in every corner, exuding the smell of old age. Every time it is opened, it is like entering a dark and humid time tunnel, which is depressing.
At one point, my mother also wanted to change the old clothes I wore when I was a child for my daughter to wear. I firmly refuse. Now there are so many beautiful styles and colors of clothes, why not let children enjoy the beauty that life gives? But as for my mother, she still keeps her brooms high and lives by guarding piles of old things.
I always persuade my mother not to go to the old, and not to come to the new, because these tasteless and tasteless old things will miss many opportunities to try new things. Later, I pretended to be careless once and knocked over the small square table on purpose, and it fell apart immediately. Since then, the parents have used a new dining table for meals. The new table is clean and clean, and I feel appetizing when I eat on it. Inspired by this, my mother took the initiative to discard many old things that I had kept for many years, and the home was much refreshed.

In fact, many of us are prone to cherishing ourselves, holding on to the incomplete things and reluctant to let go, unable to start a new life.
That year, my sister broke up in love, and the man she loved moved away and never returned. The younger sister fell into deep pain and couldn't extricate herself. While cursing him, she repeatedly looked through his photos, letters, and gifts from him, chewing on the memories. At that time, my sister even pulled me and said that she was going to the beach 200 kilometers away to play. In fact, her purpose was just to inquire about that person. It can be seen that my sister cherishes that relationship very much, but the love has gone far, and the relationship has become an old thing full of holes. I said to my sister, he has failed you and is not worth nostalgia for, so forget him completely! My sister finally made up her mind to throw away everything about him. It didn't take long for her to start a new relationship that eventually found happiness.
We always think that what belongs to us is the best, and even if it has no value, we do not want to give it up. In writing, I am used to writing very long manuscripts. After communicating with the editors, they often tell me that your manuscripts are long and not concise, from 2000 words to 1000 words! However, from the beginning to the end, I felt that every word was written with my own heart, and I was reluctant to delete it. An editor said, you try to delete 1,000 words of the manuscript, and I did. When I read the edited article again, I feel that there is less nonsense, the article is short and powerful, like a tree that has cut off the branches that slanted out of the side, the language expression is clear, and the theme is also prominent. Those superfluous words, in fact, are simply "brooms" and should have been thrown away long ago.
Why should I treasure my broom? If you don't know how to give up, you can't get it. Life is the process of constantly giving up and gaining, and not letting the "broom" stumble us forward, in order to reap the brilliant flowers on the road ahead.
