Abstract:

The Public On-Chain Non-Fungible Token Attributes Repository standard, known as ERC-7508, introduces a groundbreaking approach to the storage of token attributes in a public-good repository. This standard provides the capability for ERC-721 and ERC-1155 compatible tokens to store their attributes on-chain, making them accessible to any external smart contract interacting with them.

Introduction:

In recent years, non-fungible tokens (NFTs) have gained significant traction within the Ethereum ecosystem, serving a wide array of use cases. As the utility and versatility of NFTs continue to expand, there arises a need to standardize additional functionalities to enhance their potential. The ability to store token attributes on-chain represents a significant leap forward in the evolution of NFTs, fostering cross-collection interactivity and providing a perpetual store of attributes.
