Nov 11th 2024 : Madam
Dear Editors/Commentators:
Thank you for your time! This is not a traditional Whitepaper; it acts more as seeds spread into the garden - the rooting of ideas which one day we will grow into real implementations. As such, here are a couple notes on what would be the most helpful for us:
Please place function over form. If there is a concept in which its form greatly impedes understanding, we would appreciate a comment with your suggestion of its rewriting. Otherwise, we will be overlooking any grammatical, stylistic and structural comments.
We practice solution-oriented processes, which means we would love to hear a specific point of how to clarify or your interpretation (which will bounce us closer to what we are trying to express!) over comments like “unclear” or “how so?” For example: “Unclear how this point x relates to this point y” “How does this work if a will become b”
Like a garden, please please please bombard us with links and references and things to read up on, consider, incorporate and more!!
If there are idea chunks that we spend a great deal of time together on, we would love to have you as a Contributor
And if there’s any seeds missing, please add to the Questions we are considering section at the very end
Thank you so so much for your time again, and we are so looking forward to being on this journey and building the future together, one life at a time <3
Here lies, in the simplest clarity possible, our thoughts and plans for building Union X City: an ai-enhanced, blockchain powered, crypto and digital nomad friendly network city. We hope to merge realistic implementations of pioneering technology and human-centric community designs to create a new way of life - with nodes all over the world - filled with cozy neighbors and global convenience. We care about the increasing amount of loneliness in our world and seek a path forward to flourishing the brain whilst equally residing in the heart. Future tech, good ol’values.
We will start by operating on 789 acres of climate-proof land on Vancouver Island, BC, Canada. Our hope is manifold:
To provide infrastructure for high-movers
As media and technology merge the looking glass of the world, curiosity and remote work drive demand, and massive advancements in travel enable an identity diaspora of social connections, there is an ever-increasing amount of people trying to fit the narrative of “settling” into their lives. Whether they associate themselves with the wanderlust and excitement of being a nomad, a full-time pop-up city chaser, frequent between three or four cities around the world cyclically, or merely just “bi-pacific”, “bi-coastal” or “bi-atlantic”, there is a blossoming new mobile way of life under the umbrella term of being a “high-mover”. Currently, there is insufficient infrastructure to support what we believe is a growing community of people and their needs: childcare, schooling integration, health insurance, taxation, mental wellness through deep, intimate and sustained connections and many more.
To align the incentives of the governing and those being governed
Currently, there is no direct incentive for those making decisions that steward community resources to be in the best interest of the people living and breathing the consequences of said decisions every day. There is no direct punishment for inefficiency; oftentimes even no measure of waste - be it time or talent resources - within existing systems. We believe all holding the same token, locking promises onchain and as much as possible leaving the vortex of power given to a particular position within the position itself as opposed to the person elected can provide many new explorations into solving this problem.
To become the frontier budding ground for future ways of life and progress, both hardware and software wise, and
We believe that there needs to be a direct testing ground for frontier technologies with previously blank enclosures physically, socially and digitally safely left out to enable these fast-paced iterations since build inception. By hardware we adopt a broader scope to include anything physical and tangible such as electricity infrastructure and smart homes etc; and software includes intangible means like social design and community sentiment markers (etc.) on top of the traditional definition. Eventually we will find the minimal viable product for a “byte-sized” happy city life and hope to provide such a citystack to aid existing cities in their efficiency, empower grassroots communities to leverage and connect their comparative strengths within our network and deploy full templates into completely unbroken ground. We hope to become a funnel to drive capital towards real products and companies that are improving peoples’ lives and solving every day problems. This direct route becomes increasingly more important as the world faces risks that accelerate hyperspeed cycles of economic, environmental and political collapse.
To spread human happiness
We firmly believe current cities are not designed for human happiness - if consciously designed at all. We are pessimist for a world that advances and leaves its people behind: terrified of a future without love and connection, and each generation feeling less hope than the last. This is our chief concern and always, our ultimate guiding principle.
To realize these goals, we lay out the following:
The “needs” for the “plans” that this paper and project will aim to solve.
Stats: 15% of U.S. population moved from urban to rural, 31.4 million moved within the country 2020-2021, 3 million Americans make an interstate move in a year, small and midsized cities under 50k people saw the highest rise of population growth in 2023 Approximately 333,000 Canadians moved from one province or territory to another in 2023 and the third straight year that interprovincial migration topped 300,000, unprecedented levels not seen in thirty years Over 57% of the world’s population now lives in urban areas, and this is projected to increase to 68% by 2050, or an additional 2 billion people. This rapid urbanization has led to overcrowding, unaffordable housing, poor air quality, and rising crime in many cities, pushing people to seek alternative living arrangements outside traditional urban centers. Climate Proofing: By 2050, an estimated 2.8 billion people will live in countries facing severe ecological threats, a significant increase from 1.8 billion in 2023. Currently, 42 countries face severe food insecurity, with nearly four billion people living in areas experiencing high or severe food insecurity Over 1.8 billion people live in areas at severe risk of natural disasters, with projections indicating that these risks will increase as climate change continues to impact weather patterns By 2050, over 40% of subnational areas are expected to experience population growth of at least 20%, primarily in countries with low levels of peacefulness Macrohistorians say that we are in an era of decline. In these times, the commons will rise. There is no better technology than blockchains to give communities a mechanism to enforce itself on-scale whilst championing individual sovereignty. There will then be both the desire and the ability to move into intentional living clusters with like-valued individuals en masse
We think that technological advancement will exponentially explode with the advent of artificial intelligence causing our current life to be nearly unrecognizable within the next ten years. At this same time, most of the problems we assume to be unsolvable may have a breakthrough, and existing solutions deemed too expensive, will take too long or too risky may become commonplace. Specifically in the industries of energy, materials science, biological computing and very large environments, we will see advancements that make city-building - both in its hardware construction, adaption and resilience, as well as software like community personalization and user-plugability - substantially easier. And if not, those structures that can most frictionlessly iterate, are prepared to receive hyperspeed changes and actively testing with positivity will win.
We believe that besides the archaic legacy structures of human construct - legalese, government processes, banking etc, - current cities are becoming increasingly physically unlivable due to overceding the original carrying capacity of the land and infrastructure it was built to support Congestion caused by private vehicles jammed into critical arteries, inflexible design of routes, and uncapped population incoming on what is the very limited land of our current cities is the root of almost all other problems: housing shortages, undersupply of public resources, negative emotional externalities and many more The same way that we can calculate the natural carrying capacity of a piece of biome and the maximum number of a particular species it should carry for there to be a sustainable ecosystem, we believe we should adopt the same mentality towards designing future cities There should only be a maximum range in which population should be capped; and we should know when to start preparing the next city pod when the waitlist to move-in and organic births reach a certain number This belief is perfectly aligned with the blockchain utilities of NFTs in which only holders may functionally engage with the city; and new collections only triggered upon the smart contract meeting certain conditions Along with the rapid advancement of technologies, we should be able to shorten build times and intelligently plan ahead for accessibility, critical care and energy resources for each city pod that fractals outwards from major hubs
We believe eventually there will only be two major forces between people:
A globalized economic force guaranteed by trustless blockchain layers that enable most transactional interactions.
A localized social force reinforced by high trust communal consensus around specific moral values and reciprocal actions.
For the vast expanse of human history, humanity has been decentralized. After the agricultural revolution, Homo sapiens have expanded and conquered until there is only one piece of unclaimed land remaining on Earth. We believe the centralized forces required to gather strength and collectively ignite globalization are reaching their edge. We believe we will return to an era of decentralized coordination with global automated trade networks rooted in local human relationships. A decentralized world of small centralized identity clusters each owning and governing themselves while transacting with others trustlessly through smart contracts when conditions agree. The form of these clusters may also take the shape of layers of social identity as each person may subscribe to multiple different cohorts or value groups. Their physical interactions stitch these layers together as travel and infrastructure enable network nodes to be the intersection and landing points of humanity.
The core beliefs we stand for, that unite us through the dark confusing and demarcate the boundary between “us” and “them”
There is something beautifully aligned with blockchain networks and how we envision our community to be: You must be invited (“airdropped”) in order to join the network. You must contribute to the security of the network/governance model by voting. You must acknowledge that there is a cost (“gas”) to every action carried out by the network, that there is always someone doing the work Google is not free. You are paying with your data. There is nothing that is free. Getting out of this free-rider mentality and into a contribution-first, I-am-the-master-of-my-own-value mindset is the only way to recapture agency and truly embrace free will in an ever rapidly changing world. Every person in our community must CHOOSE actively, eagerly and lean-in to being here.
Expecting one company unchanged to live forever is a disease. Perhaps expecting any system to live forever, and to associate that forever with “good” is acting in counter to evolution and true sustainability. There are those that are good at 0-1, and those that are good at 1-n, and through blockchain ecosystems, rebalancing and tracking contributions, there no longer needs to have one person be both the founder and managing ceo, wartime and peacetime ceo, in order to birth good products to the people. We look forward to exploring how token launches can be used as product updates on the existing system instead of the massive talent waste by reinventing the wheel. Whereas the upside value capture per iteration is large enough to incentivize improvements upon. And founder contribution is slowly shifted into the hands of those using and improving the system automatically over time. We look forward to embracing both the contribution of creation as well as the contribution of usage and improvement, and how on-chain incentive logic can balance and meet the needs of all stakeholders. Some know this tenet as “Abundance Mentality” but we think celebrating discrete progress and seeing all players as just adding on to each other’s work in succession is a more specific way to ground abundance mentality in outward behavioural traits. The mentality shift towards embracing episodic change is also the only way to ripple fast iterative changes across the entire social fabric. There are too many hard problems to be working on to be wasted in the ego game.
Happy motivated people work harder. They are more innovative, create better environments mutually, input diverse angles and are more resilient. They spend their time excelling at skills they own, take pride in their responsibilities and mentor the less experienced. When given the safety, they expand on skillsets they are curious about, ask dangerous questions and can develop real growth mentality. We need to design work spaces that purpose, motivate and fulfill our people. There has been much talk about population decline. A variety of mechanisms - threat harbingers, direct cash - have been tried. Frankly, if young people were just happy, they would have children. We need to design our social spaces to maximize the flourishing of love of all forms. Friendships, chosen family, clubs and social groups, and a plurality of other manifestations of hope and longevity among our kind. Prosocial player interactions are a top-tier intrinsic motivator for every other sort of actions within a system. There needs to be a conscious design for happiness among all our infrastructure for the future; each hardware, software, economic, social, communal and individual layer.
While we are eagerly embracing AI and it’s realistic implementations in our lives, we maintain that there should always be the rule of respecting human lives primo principio and serving the goal of humanity’s longevity and prosperity. Understanding there are a plethora of values even within our species, we urge our differing communities to try and find the common ground and prioritize similarity as the founding city in our network. We do not endorse cancel and call-out culture, but instead call-in culture

The mental machinery behind all other abilities, the context supporting thoughts and actions, as well as an attempt to raise the bar on our common “common sense”
The current default to scaling solutions is to pile on headcount, layering up chains of command and adding more checkpoints, reporting and processes - effectively making whatever model “thicker” and increasing the volume of the organization. Regardless of what form the entity or experience under question is, we should strive to make global-optimizing decisions, seek minimal viable teams that can independently produce answers and expand the surface area for context as much as possible. We can take lessons from biological cells in whereas the surface area to volume ratio needs to be high or else the cell literally dies from its own waste not being transported out fast enough: this is a valuable parallel to how systems become defunct, organizations rot and entropy wins. This is not just a matter of communication, but the design of the evolution of our growth, of the conscious decisions to seek broader scopes that touch problem and solution points as directly as possible and an attitude of active questioning of primitives forevermore. This is the anti-aging fight on an organizational scale that will form the membrane-fabric of our new society.
Whereas the cyberspace becomes increasingly “real”, the words we speak carry the weight of actions in the physical world. When taking up public bandwidth, cultural signaling in online forums and the behaviours we hold ourselves accountable for should be as direct a translation to offline acceptability standards as possible - regardless, and especially, when identities are anon. Perhaps this is the only chance to develop real character as Socrates once asked, what is justice stripped of its consequences? All good virtues can only be, when we are. We birth them into existence when we are their embodiment without any influence or effect.
Anti-fragile: Capture emotional responses to the content of discussion and release them in safe spaces that will honour them as opposed to in-thread of solution discovery. Check ego-needs before contributing to discourse and be mindful of how it influences downstream interactions; while seeking validation, establishing credibility and other needs are all true, may we carry them in tandem to the flow of content in public discussion instead of directing them. We are all responsible for our own emotional regulation. Seek intentional help if support is needed. Constantly practice repair work within a mentality of growth.
Here is a set of logical fallacies to try and avoid: thou shall not commit. No one is perfect; everyone is trying our best; every inch closer to the fire should be celebrated; be gracious in interpretation and gentle in delivery.
We are heading into a world where completely true answers are rare. For those answers we know we know, the ask is how can we implement with the highest efficiency, lowest cost, and be the most sustainable in the long run. For those answers we know we don’t know, the ask is how we best frame the questions to delineate between the two and to see questioning itself as the solution-in-process. For those answers we don’t even know we don’t know, the ask is to keep a near religiously open mind, amass intelligence collectively and shift perspective from giving the right answers to asking the closest questions. In our era of AI, the skill and speed of gathering and answering information will no longer be as predominantly valuable as prompting the right questions to zero in on finding which answers we - as a collective talent computing pool - should allocate our thought and action resources on implementing. As humanity seeps its reach of mastery further and further into every domain, we will see the time dimension collapse into minute units of cascading change. In such a future, every decision made along our only remaining constraint of time will amplify progress or death.
As per Assumption 3 above, we will cap the total number of residents in a city to be within a certain range that the natural geopolitical carrying capacity of that land allows. The cap range for our inaugural Union X Bay village on Vancouver Island is 8000-10k people. Because of these caps, we are truly seeking like-minded individuals who are heavily value-aligned to opt-in, build and own our cities with us.
We want to integrate conscious happiness design and opt-in tenets into city life focusing on each phase of becoming a resident. We will host “Weekend Retreats” for prospective residents with communal living and set programming to introduce the daily tools used as a netizen as well as purposeful experiences with existing residents to foster deep relationships. This includes but is not limited to:
Pattern matching intentionality forms to pair each potential resident with others in like-states of social needs, familial status and desired encounters
Playing governance games to experience first-hand the power of on-chain ownership
Coaching of core tenets and how they are carried out within everyday life
The critical social interaction and support numbers we want to design for each individual are at minimum:
2 - “I can borrow sugar at any time” neighbours
5 - “I can gather a dinner together” close friends
30 - “Hello! How’s your morning” familiar faces
We will also host seasonal weeklong gatherings and ramp up to one very large conference event every year as a midlevel and high level funnel for community integration. We foresee a significant amount of non-blockchain normies joining our community and think building an education program that is robust, adaptable and personalized will be crucial. One of the best introductions to our industry which we have high ideological resonance with is Kernel.
Canadian Citizens: 25+ year olds looking to try out a new city. Families looking to relocate. Remote working adults getting priced out of major hubs.
Network Society Citizens: Looking for town to build together. Digital nomads looking to become digital “settlers”. Seasonal nomads who identify with network states, network nations, popup cities and intentional community movements.
Blockchain Community: Crypto-native citizens looking to build and live in self-sufficient crypto economies. Blockchain project leaders looking for on-ground integration and real-life use cases. Metaverse enthusiasts.
Smart City Futurists: Technologists invested in implementing frontier tech like AI, regenerative tech, auto-transportation, augmented reality and the like.
Cities currently do not recognize how much public good and how essential true community builders are for the functioning happiness of our social fabric. These individuals need a permanent place, with compensation directly allocated from the equivalent of web2 “municipal taxes” and web3 “gas”, to work their magic on the day-to-day reality of our residents. There are numerous studies that show the more group memberships a person is in, the better their mental health, stress resiliency and life satisfaction. We must have various social clubs, hobbyist activities and lifelong learning classes that allow our residents to develop a matrix of identity and belonging. How our community engages with each other is a top-tier design priority and we encourage all brainstorming, suggestions and contributions for more ideas eagerly.
Between 0-2500 residents we will form a township or some sort of strong HoA like entity. This first town will pilot initial circuits of operations, complete on-chain voting, issue prioritization, and community happiness within a circular economy.
When we reach 5000 Residents, we will apply for municipality status. We will work together with Vancouver Island’s trade commission to be a model representation for creating economic value, encourage innovation and become a hub for technology.
What we can and can not do in terms of taxes, blockchain technology spread, currency and other policies will be cemented closer to date. As of present, we are cleared for Short-term Rentals (Airbnb’s are not allowed without business licenses in British Columbia), No Foreign Buyer’s Tax, being a Foreign Trade Zone and plan to eagerly apply for government grants and various program support City Council Roles. We believe with aligned incentives from holding the same regional currency, our city should be run like a company: with effectively, the mayor as the CEO, the citizens as a combination of being users and shareholders, and the profits as funding for public goods. Like in a traditional company: The CEO is in charge of sourcing the best people to lead each of the committees. There are Marketing Committees tasked with attracting residents to the city whose sole purpose is to make the waiting list for wanting to move-in as long as possible. There are Community Committees tasked with ensuring active resident engagement and happy stickiness, to where customer service truly is a service. There are Technology Committees tasked with security, everything blockchain and integration with all partners. There are Finance Committees tasked with budgeting and expense forecasts, dual-token economics, treasury regulation and investment arms. And there are multiple Product Committees depending on the goods and services offered on the city level to investigate the best options, maintenance and upgrades to transportation, infrastructure and the like City government shall give quarterly transparent updates on expenditures and forecasts. We will try to implement a 55 year old max elected age, and serving until max 65 years old. Roles in government should have highly competitive salaries liken to C-suite private sectors and must have a track record of community involvement of at least 6 months prior to running. Those who spearhead policies which generate economic upsides will have their contribution locked in smart contracts, acting as their “commission” or “stock options” for as long as the passed proposal deems given out in vested open-market token. Similar to “intrapreneurship”, government members can go on to phase out of direct government leadership and into leading these separate committees once they “retire”. With the exception of dismissals, government post leaves require at least a 1 month prior notice, and 1 month retraining and hand-over process. We need to attract the best, smartest people in the world and give them a viable space to invest their ambitions into public good.
Each resident gets one vote linked to their unique resident ID, that needs to be biometrically verified offline and stored on-chain. We will work to have voting triggered based on satisfaction ratings at any time instead of just the mandatory four year process, as well as there being no term limits. Once voting is triggered, there will be a month long in-person voting process in which every citizen must vote. When we have multiple cities, citizens can pick the one geographically closest to them during that month. Failure to vote and to provide on-chain explanation prior to election will result in getting flagged. Upon second undermining, the resident will be enrolled in a rehabilitation course to combat apathy and reintegrate with a high dose of community love! One part therapy (personal blocker?), one part product feedback interviews (city system blocker?) and the rest community events (putting it into action through the clubs they love). Every candidate needs to present their budget for the services and the plan for any new policies prior to the election. These new policies we hope to use a combination of deliberative and anticipatory democracy to determine. These councils will run year-long with citizen and expert participation. If a new issue is brought up, it needs to pass through the council deciding whether should be added to the municipal advisory docket, and provide a list of potential action plans. Any citizen may propose an issue.
Municipal Taxes & Dividends
In an ideal world, supported by an abundance of live data, the municipal taxation amount should be an equal split amongst every resident of the city. As city users, this is how we pay the “gas” on our network, support our city-product and guarantee we can continue funding the public goods every one can take part in equally. Since our data is on-chain, we are able to ensure the relevancy of public goods and only those who are part of our community have access to them - of course in a privatized, abstracted away manner. These include the fees of all new policies voted in through elections. This incentivizes dialogue on which are the common grounds, services and “shoulds” a resident should receive and which should be left to specific communities themselves. Hence, a sliding bar between as communalism and as libertarian as each community itself decides. There can be no debt on the municipal level, so in cases where there is underbudgeting, either hold off on delivery of services or selling a portion of the open-market token. At the same time, the reverse is true, residents can elect to payout themselves through dividends in surplus years, as according to whatever plan the incumbent mayor presented. The city should be actively investing and trying to earn “profits” (increase GDP & price of open market currency) for their citizens, with the eventual goal of all municipal fees can just be deducted from the fund the city is earning for each resident.
The closed utility currency: The token utilized as a unit of account and medium of exchange within the local city domains, accepted ubiquitously at all transaction scenarios. Highly considering using Index Wallets as a way to incorporate positive externalities into the currency ecosystem. Limited to offline usage and not listed on any public exchange.
The open market currency: The token launched on behalf of all the network cities of UXC and represents the open market’s speculative belief in our value. Publicly listed on exchanges and paired on DEXes.
Regulates utility and market currency exchange rate. Operates monetary policy on both unlimited supply currencies.
Major cryptocurrencies will be converted into the utility currency and can be freely used within UXC communities. Vigilant KYC/AML policies and eagerly working with regulators.
All residents can leave UXC or sell some of their utility token through the Treasury for more than when they entered as our market token increases in value. This way, finally, citizens can - as they should - automatically capture the upside of their city’s growth.

Union X Bay is the first network city within UXC that serves as a replicable model for all future semi-urban economic and social development from deploying onto completely new land to plugging various citystack technologies onto existing infrastructures. Currently there is no set method for calculating municipal level GDP: we hope to contribute valuable data and an eventual GDP AI Engine for the world.
By 2040, we aim to cultivate a vibrant community of at least 8,000 residents, supported by nearly 1 million AI agents, generating an annual Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of around $7 billion. This translates to a per capita GDP of $1 million, positioning Union Bay among the most prosperous cities globally.
Our projections are based on assumptions about population growth, technological adoption, and industry development: Population Growth: We anticipate significant population growth due to immigration, natural increase, and planned residential developments between 2024 and 2040. The attractive living conditions, coupled with economic opportunities, are expected to draw people from across the globe. Digital Nomads: We expect that 30% of our residents will be digital nomads—professionals who leverage technology to work remotely. Our advanced digital infrastructure and supportive policies make Union X Bay an ideal destination for this demographic. Labor Force Participation: With a younger demographic profile, we estimate an 80% labor force participation rate among residents and digital nomads. This rate surpasses the national averages of 62% in the United States and 64.3% in Canada, reflecting our active and engaged workforce.

Technological Integration: The adoption of AI and blockchain technologies is expected to significantly enhance productivity and stimulate the creation of new industries. These technologies will permeate all aspects of life and work in Union X Bay, driving efficiency and innovation.
Infrastructure Investments: Strategic development of critical infrastructure—such as renewable energy systems, high-speed connectivity, and smart transportation networks—will provide the backbone for economic growth.
Productivity Gains: Technological advancements will lead to higher Total Factor Productivity (TFP), resulting in a higher GDP per worker compared to national averages. This means our workers will be more productive, contributing more value to the economy.
Attraction of Global Talent: Our ability to draw top talent from around the world will boost innovation and productivity. The collaborative environment, combined with cutting-edge facilities, will make Union X Bay a magnet for professionals in various fields.
High Investment Levels: Substantial capital inflows from investors attracted to Union X Bay’s technological potential will fuel economic growth. Our favorable tax policies and business-friendly environment make us an attractive destination for both domestic and foreign investors.
DeFi Ecosystem Growth: By creating a secure and progressive regulatory environment for decentralized financial activities, Union X Bay aims to attract DeFi platforms, crypto funds, and a digital-savvy population. This ecosystem will drive new opportunities in financial services, investments, and high-paying jobs.
By leveraging AI and blockchain, we anticipate significant economic growth over the next 15 to 20 years. Using computational models, we have predicted robust economic growth driven by strategic investments and technological innovation. These estimates are derived using multiple methodologies, including labor force calculations, per capita GDP benchmarking, investment-based estimations, and advanced economic modeling (such as the Solow-Swan Model). By employing various approaches, we ensure that our projections are robust and account for different economic factors.

The GDP AI Engine is central to our approach, revolutionizing city planning and economic development. This intelligent platform provides actionable insights and recommendations by analyzing data on industry trends, emerging technologies, and market opportunities. By inputting specific details about a city or land space, users receive data-driven recommendations on industry trends, technologies, potential partners, and vendors. The AI engine offers: Actionable Insights: Tailored recommendations based on user inputs. Technology Identification: Current and emerging technologies relevant to specified industries. Collaboration Opportunities: Suggestions for top players and vendors for potential partnerships. Phased Development Plans: Customized plans aligning with the city’s unique characteristics. Data Analytics Enhancement: Improved decision-making through AI-driven insights. Matchmaking Facilitation: Connecting city governments with companies seeking investment opportunities.
In the future, every Union X Bay resident will be equipped with 100 AI agents to boost productivity and enhance day-to-day life. These agents will assist in various tasks, from personal scheduling and education to professional development and innovation, creating a highly efficient and interconnected community.
This AI platform is not only integral to Union X Bay’s development but is also envisioned as a service for other cities in the future, assisting them throughout all stages of building and maintaining urban environments.

We combined Education and Labour into one category because we think they are two ends of the same scale: as a society we should greatly lower the age expectation in which young people can start feeling productive and greatly increase the age expectation in which adults are still actively learning, both introspectively and interpersonally
Free the Mind + Purpose the Hands
First half is to as much as possible, foster curiosity and passion towards knowledge, empower the ability to learn, and inspire the motivation to become life-long learners. With the advent of AI, the focus of educational institutions need to change from content-retention within existing knowledge frameworks of what towards the development of skills to discover the how and desire to question the why. It is infinitely more important in the future to be asking “am I asking the right question” and “how do I find the most relevant answer” rather than just “what is the answer”. More important than ever that our future generations do not see the world as a multiple choice question and having right and wrong as technology dramatically gifts individual agency to create and destroy. We need to take off the ceiling that one-size-fits-all classroom education caps on our children’s imagination otherwise we will continue the single largest human capital waste compounded by opportunity cost.
Latter half is to as much as possible, utilize application to master tools and skillsets, reinforce relevancy of learning, and integrate with productive labor force. Emphasize moving up Bloom’s Taxonomy. Education also wears the second hat of generating contributive forces to the global economy. Requiring too much generalism before implementing professional skillsets both decrease the motivation loops shown through application of learning as well as creates too long of a time gap between school-job market adaption. Too many young adults graduate today unaware of their own “competitiveness” whereas this matching process should start far earlier. Problem-solving and building context in specific industries should also start earlier to capture most biologically creative and innovative periods in cranial development. Financial, Emotional, and Technological Literacy. Feeling needed by society, repeated identity formation grounded in industriousness and having the agency to choose are characteristics that highly decrease isolation and depression among young adults.
A networked global citizen, steward of humanity. Self-Confidence, Self-Awareness, Self-Determination. We do not want young adults fresh into the world crippling with debt but instead seeking contribution with radical positivity. We believe most stagnation in industry - besides the archaic organizational design and misaligned incentives - come from adults playing power games who would greatly benefit from introspective work, reassignment and pursuing true values and continuing their growth mentality learning path. For both learning and labor we believe in embracing pluralism in the future as there are more tools to tailor experiences and iterations of growth to the individual, more data that can be gathered and analyzed from differing needs and experiences and these low costs of matrixing interpretations from multiple angles allow us, as a human consciousness, to finally hold many truths concurrently.
Current management science belongs to the Ford assembly line era of punchcard-hour into output; with the arrival of remote work, shift towards knowledge workers (efficiency over time-spent) and abundance of tools to empower the individual, we should be thinking of motivation as the number one indicator of success in the workplace. We should be thinking of organizations as organisms, filled with living, moving people. We think it is the role of leadership to provide maximum signaling of direction, effectively gathering skill-teams through tags and encouraging introspection and thereby ownership.
Traffic Lights system where all team members tag themselves with skills:
Red Light: hate doing but do well (Number one reason why people hate their job, and the origin of golden handcuffs)
Yellow Light: don’t do well yet but like doing (Should encourage internships or apprenticeships lifelong to expand curiosities)
Green Light: loves doing and does well (Eventually trying to move majority of work into green lights!)
Hates doing and doesn’t do well: delegate or question the assigner
We will list and break down as many city jobs as possible into a glorified task or bounty board, and build the future porous nature of organizations. Such that the value of each task is predetermined and locked onchain. Anyone, in the world, regardless of degree, and regardless of age, can bid to take the task. A compilation of tasks through time is living proof of ability and can completely replace the existing resume-interview-trial period process. The UXC team, eventually the independent Union X Bay city council, the extended government vendor-partners, the physical residents and the metaverse citizens will all be connected through this living breathable membrane of denser or looser entanglement: this is the future of work.

We are building a Network City Operating System (NCOS) using State-Of-The-Art AI, metaverse and Web3 technologies. Our algorithm and protocol powered web3 based operation system provide a structured solution for vendors to seamlessly plug-in, builders to procedurally implement, city operators to rapidly replicate and users intuitively to use. Like a computer operation system, NCOS covers core parts of hardware, computing, interface and storage but in a decentralized manner. We analyze the technological underpinnings, frameworks, and processes necessary to make such systems operable with enhanced transparency, security, and autonomy.
The network city is our value proposition. The city is the end, a state of our goal to provide a human-centric living environment which blends innovation, humanity, warmth and technology; while the network is the means, an approach we take to reach our goal.
The network, in our narratives, firstly, is a community network bridging crypto silos. A crypto application can not be limited to speculation, nor can it be played in an isolated cult (OG group). Stay away from speculation, focus on value in the real world. Secondly, it is an integration network hybriding real world and crypto world. Crypto world without real world actualization is just an utopia, but a city is a world full of living people. Thirdly, it is a value network creating employment opportunities or interesting side-jobs (gig economy) for people to make money or trading services directly. Finally, it is a human network for people to share ideas, skills, resources and have fun.
When approaching the design of the NCOS, we conceptualize it similarly to a bottom-up, Greatest Common Factor (GCF) approach which defines the city’s core demands and implements our technology as a building block so that our users can easily use those blocks to integrate into our ecosystem as well as a top-down, Least Common Multiple (LCM) approach that tries to limit the minimal viable principles required for us to build the basic unit that enables the scaling of our community. Our NCOS aims to be “the smallest container that fits the most things”.
GCF Considerations: Accessibility Identity Experience Trust Ownership Economics Privacy Security Exchange/Interoperation/Communication Storage/Data
LCM Considerations: Governance/Regulation Community Engagement Scale Sustainability
Operating systems such as Linux or Windows use ring architecture for access privilege and resource management purposes, hence as does NCOS. There are 4 high-level logic rings in NCOS:
Ring 0 – Asset Ring
Real world assets, devices to connect assets to chain and hardware abstraction located in this ring. It can be divided architecturally into 2 layers: Real Layer + Hardware Layer
Ring 1- Chain Ring
All blockchain related functionalities stay in this ring: Data Layer + Network Layer + Protocol Layer
Ring 2 – Service Ring
This is the core ring for city customization and integration. There are 2 layers here: Configuration layer + Service Layer
Ring 3 – User Ring
This ring deals with city users: Application Layer + Access layer
NCOS Architecture rings shown below:

Technologies Building and seeking partnerships with SOTA technologies such as:
Account Abstraction (AA) & Wallets
Internet-of-Things (IoT) Stack with HAL and IO BUS designs
Decencentralized Oracle Network (DON) on edge computing networks
Supply chain Stacks like computer peripherals of OEM & software developers
Interoperability & Cross-Chain Communication with heterogeneousness
Privacy such as ZKPs, zkML, SMPC, Federation Learning
Scalability/Extensions with L2s and Cross-Chain bridges
AI/ML for transaction automation and data analytics
IAM with DID
Tokenization of Assets related to fractionalization standards, frameworks and decentralized storage
Sustainability & Green Blockchain with energy-efficient consensus mechanisms
NCOS extends the city’s functions via integration process, during which vendors can plug their service and provide new functions for city citizens. The whole process is detailed in the flow chart below:

Vendor side
Vendor will initialize the integration process shown from the left side in above chart. NCSO provides the API for vendors to register their services which is already deployed somewhere in other permissionless blockchain, for example, Ethereum or Solana. Vendors need to register with certain required information according to NCSO specification. NCSO will create and deploy bridge contracts automatically to ramp in vendors then update service repositories for users to consume.
User side
Users only need to browse services from the city's service portal which is circled in blue in the flow chat. When they find any interesting services or products, they can send a purchase request. NCOS will connect their wallet and execute the proper smart bridge contract to complete the transaction.

Land tax? May be in line with indigenous land rights
Weighted tokens to vote? Considering something like whales have more of an invested interest in token price rising should their vote count more? My gut feeling is that it shouldn’t
How DAO do we go?
Our Valuation is our Revenue in a way voting totally transparent will dip the token price?
Interesting social phenomenon like creating space for ambitious people in public sector
Nuclear for setting up our own grid? 2 Billion dollars for setup, microreactor, Amazon
Transfer of power/incentives from investors/ppl who make it happen, to ppl who will govern and utilize everyday? Cap investor returns at 100x then return back to City Treasury investor visas and talent visas How to measure investor opt-in after initial investment?
Any larger categories? Do we need another level of abstraction?
New age media built into city gov Townhalls with live feeds
Should the utility token just be a stablecoin pegged to whatever national currency?
Heart token as measure of community love? Thought nugget: <3
Contemplating every UXC city node will use the same closed utility currency instead of every city having its own unique currency, what does this world look like? Technically a unit of exchange should be the same regardless of where in the world it is, it only gets complicated bc forex/imports/exports/earning arbitrage Will move complexity over to open market currency, which will either internally equalize the human living experience or turn into a complete clusterfuuuuu
