In Web3, I’ve found something I can be the best at. I can be me - the best version of myself.
@Zeneca_33 gave us a writing prompt this week. It was "What impact has Web3 hand on your life?". I decided to share it. Incoming romanticized story…
I’m a doctor. The world has me thinking I should be fulfilled because I’m helping others. But I’m not. I got into this line of business because it’s what others wanted for me.
Sure, I’ve built skills and knowledge that society deems useful, but because it’s not authentic to me, I’ll never be the best at it.
Web3 has given me the opportunity to reinvent myself. I’ve been able to connect, make friends, and build with passionate people just like myself all over the world.
It’s given me the opportunity to challenge myself and stretch my creativity to the fullest. The competition is fierce, so it induces and accelerates growth faster than I’ve ever experienced.
Web3 has unearthed what I’ve kept hidden from myself and the world - my love for art, writing, and building. It’s given me the courage to share those parts of me, and I’ve been rewarded handsomely.
This past year I’ve helped artists with their 1/1 sales, built marketing systems for multiple projects, and have proudly failed on a project of my own. Not too shabby for someone whose expertise was in science, chemistry, and drug therapy.
Today, I’m working on projects I’m passionate about and have found teams who are just as passionate as me. I’m now counting the days I have left at the side gig I call my "job".
Oh, and I'm having the time of my life.
