When I hear the new builders of Web3 and the metaverse get hung up on how to lock their assets to prevent theft and piracy, i jump to nip that thought right in the bud. They would be helping the middlemen industries and monopolies to overreach and overcharge, to prevent the right to fix and to kill ownership under the guise of DRM and protection. Please Don't.

Instead, start from the assumption that propelled the beginning of the internet and Web 1: information wants to be free, and making things available and abundant will enable adoption, invention and agency.
