Of course, the first thing you have to do is set up your Avatar - check mine out below. Super Swaggy as the kids say!! I spent some time jumping around to a few different worlds and playing with some of the creator tools. My battery died a little fast, but I was starting to get a little dizzy by that point so maybe I don’t need the extra battery pack after all?

The games were pretty cool, and that’s coming from someone who doesn’t see themselves as a “Gamer”. I could see myself meeting up with friends and playing games here. I’m very happy they have the mute and block option within the games because there seemed to be an influx of children squawking and being well.. annoying.
I will have to dive into the games further but my first interaction with a disc golf course game and the capture-the-flag shooter game within the horizon plaza was very positive. I even messaged one of my friends and told him to buy a Quest so we can play mini-golf together.
The creator tools overall feel like training wheels for the grander meta plans of having normal / non-developer / non-designers building “Worlds”. In many ways, it felt the same as ShapesXR in terms of creating objects in the metaverse. However, the toolset was much larger since the tools included settings for an entire world and not just objects.
The biggest difference between Shapes XR and horizon is horizon has a scripting tool within it that allows creators to create if/else statements to create animations, actions, and much more.
I went through the create your first world tutorial quickly was again very helpful. In Shapes XR and horizon the onboarding tools have been very well done. I duplicate the create my first world and then played with the creator tools a bit. Here is me standing on a cloud and looking down on my first world.

Things I could do next with Horizon :
Make friends with all these creators and see if I can collab on their worlds
Explore more worlds and get a better sense of what I like and dislike
Create worlds.. so many ideas here - disc golf or
Learn the scripting tools and build out a library for myself of reusable scripts.
