Swapping tokens onchain should be simple. But in reality, most people still have to dig through CoinGecko, double-check contract addresses, and worry about buying the wrong version of a token.
We’re fixing that.
Context Layer is introducing Auto Token Detection, a memory-powered, multi-source AI system that lets you swap tokens by name alone.
No contract required.
No technical skill needed.
Just type:
> “Swap PEPE to ETH”
And the AI will do the rest safely, intelligently, and in context.
Token names are often ambiguous.
Anyone can deploy a fake version of “PEPE”, “SHIBA”, or even “USDT” on Ethereum.
That means there could be dozens or even hundreds of tokens with the same name. Some are real, many are scams, and most are confusing to new users.
Auto Token Detection solves this using a multi-layered filtering system that understands your intent, history, and current liquidity conditions in real time.
Here's what happens behind the scenes when you type “Swap PEPE to ETH”:
If you’ve interacted with “PEPE” before swapped, saved, or tracked it the AI remembers that.
It prioritizes your version of the token from your private AI memory.
The AI checks real-time liquidity and volume data using:
- Dexscreener API: `https://api.dexscreener.io/latest/dex/pairs/ethereum`
- DEXTools API: authenticated via developer key
This helps identify the most active and liquid pools with the lowest risk.
To confirm token names, logos, and symbols, the AI cross-references:
- CoinGecko API: `https://api.coingecko.com/api/v3/coins/list` and `/coins/{id}`
- CoinMarketCap API: `https://pro-api.coinmarketcap.com/v1/cryptocurrency/info` (requires CMC Pro API Key)
Only verified token metadata is displayed and used for logic matching.
To get real-time pool info directly from Uniswap, the AI queries:
- Uniswap V2 Subgraph: `https://api.thegraph.com/subgraphs/name/uniswap/uniswap-v2`
- Uniswap V3 Subgraph: `https://api.thegraph.com/subgraphs/name/uniswap/uniswap-v3`
This confirms whether the pair exists, how much liquidity is in it, and if it’s safe to route.
To block suspicious or malicious tokens, we apply:
- Internal ContextLayer token blacklist
- Community-maintained scam token lists
- DEXTools risk indicators
- Minimum volume & liquidity thresholds
- Honeypot checks (where available)
If a token fails these checks, the AI will block or warn before executing.
- Dexscreener for pool stats and DEX volume
- DEXTools for risk scoring and advanced token data
- CoinGecko for public token metadata and symbols
- CoinMarketCap for verified token metadata (Pro API)
- Uniswap Subgraphs (V2 & V3) for live onchain liquidity data
- Internal ContextLayer memory and history
- Custom risk filters and manual blocklists
With Auto Token Detection, you can:
- Swap any ERC-20 token by name
- Avoid scam tokens without researching
- Let the AI choose the best route and safest pool
- Reuse tokens you've swapped before
- Use natural language or voice to interact with DeFi
This is the next step toward a full memory-native AI assistant.
- Token swaps via Uniswap V3
- Auto USDC ⇄ ETH support
- Token history and memory
- Uniswap V2 support coming soon
- Multichain support in development (Polygon, Base)
Go to https://chat.contextlayer.co
Then type:
> “Swap 100 SHIBA to ETH”
> or
> “Buy DAI with USDC”
The AI will detect, check, and confirm everything before executing onchain.
Auto Token Detection isn’t just about convenience.
It’s about trust, safety, and memory. Your AI finally understands the tokens you want, when you want them.
Context Layer is building a smarter DeFi experience. One that remembers, learns, and acts securely.
And we’re just getting started.
