This show has been a long time in the making…

For those who know me, they will know that I’ve always loved talking to people. Connecting with other humans has always brought me joy helped give me purpose.

Over the last 9 years, I’ve really gotten to see the world from a different perspective: Parenthood. This has only been amplified in the last few years since my second and third kid were born.

Now, I feel like most every moment of my life is either working or parenting and I’ve run out of opportunities for connecting with people.

So that’s what Meeple Meet-Ups is all about. This show is a tool for me to find the mental health support I need as an exhausted parent and stressed small business owner who suffers from an over active imagination.

Through talking with other nerdy dads, community pillars and others, I can get back to connecting with the intriguing folks and creating lasting relationships that help all of us learn and grow.

Why does this require a show?

Procrastination is too easy when you don’t have a weekly show to be accountable to. Now I HAVE to connect! I’ve got you all to keep me on track!

This is just a teaser of what's to come. The first season will start airing in July! So please, subscribe to the channel and tune in when episodes are live!

• I’ll be building a variety of types of shows under the Meeple Meet-Ups banner:

  • [Nerds in the Neighbourhood]

    • This series will follow my conversations with Toronto based parents who have nerdy jobs. We will get into it about parent life and nerd life, or whatever else.

  • [Tales from the Tavern]

    • This series will follow the Wizards, Witches and Warlocks who dabble in the Forgotten Runes Runiverse. This collaborative world building experiment is bringing together the oddest cast of characters you’ve ever seen. Let’s meet them! For those who have no clue what this project is all about and why I’m so in love with it, I’ll also be doing some explainer videos about this all together.

  • [Magic Meets]

    • This series I’ll be connecting with important people from the Magic the Gathering community who want to get down about cards! So many fun, interesting folks are serious in the world of Magic, so let’s see what they have going on!

  • [Round Table]

    • Just straight up D&D games. No fluff.

• There could be more ideas to come, but this is what’s currently in the works as we speak!

Why a Web3 tool like Mirror.xyz?

The tools Web3 create for us allow creators to direct their content at exactly the folks who need to hear it. And, using the decentralized financial tools of Web3, supporters of creators can give money directly to those creators, bypassing some of the traditional tools such as patreon or go fund me, who take a large piece of the pie. From an early age my grand dad taught me to have a healthy distrust the banking system, and financial intermediaries, so let’s stick it to them!

If folks like my style and want to have their project or product featured as an ad, reach out, I can probably make room for that!

Mirror’s tools also allow me to create NFTs of my kids art, for those who want them. This tool is going to be used to allow supporters to make donations to show. All NFT art associated will be CC0 licensed, so if you want to use my kids art as PFPs, knock yourself out!

Proceeds from these NFTs sales will be used to fund education and mental health services for my kids.
