There were places our hearts wouldn’t fit in,
price’s much higher than the bargain bin,
so we fought, bit in with tooth and pen,
tried our damnedest to reach deep and not fall in,
tho… a deal was a deal, I say goddamn!
Sometimes you’d settle for just enough:
one day soon, trickle downs must add up,
/but you never liked
math, never showed up, perfect scores
but goddamnit… no money for lunch.
Whaddya do when you’re hungry and just can’t
get enough? When you’re starving and even
Marvin’s tired of ya blowin up?/
It’s the weight of all the noise that brings me down,
the droning on and the so-on, always clowning the
same old rhythm,
/drop the beat, we make time to lay some different tracks:
little drummer boy sold his Platinum, won his beatbox back.
Now he don’t play, but he plays fair,
All he asks of you:
What list did you make and would you rather sing a different tune?
