Becoming a tournament director has opened new doors to my enjoyment of the game. Watching masterful play and being of service to the chess community offer me incentive to continue my own chess growth.

When I see adult players who resolve to improve and put themselves into competition, I can see a mirror of myself in the process; when I see young players ready themselves to enter the larger chess community, I am encouraged to support their engagement with the learning process. Chess Zone in North Atlanta is a wonderful conduit to expand your understanding of the game, and mastering the space on the board.

Working with young players gives me a chance to see how they are forming ideas, how they want to pursue challenges, and to afford them an opportunity to create larger constructs for their approach to knowledge. Here Coach Ryan and Coach Mark N. masterfully connect the room to great chess stories and advances.

Whether you want to sharpen your game for tournament play or just want to use it for social engagement, chess allows those connections to take place. Here Muchacho restaurant in Midtown hosts some inviting players to a pleasant play-space.
