Hey there!
The Moxie team just launched Moxie Earn!
Moxie Earn is a pretty new paradigm in onchain advertising. Many Farcaster folks are yet to get a wind of what it’s all about. So, if you’re looking to understand what Moxie Earn is, and how you can get started, this article is just for you.
That said, let’s dive in!
Online advertising has long been a staple for brands seeking ways to reach prospective customers. While advertising aligns the objective of broad product distribution with a viable revenue stream, making it one of the best monetization models out there. However, the bulk of the ad revenue goes to the platform, leaving the crumbs for individual creators.
As such, most smaller-scale individual creators struggle to convert ads into a stable income, relying instead on subscriptions to make money online. However, thanks to the open nature of crypto protocols, new forms of crypto-native advertisement models have begun to emerge. These models offer a more transparent, direct, and community-driven approach to advertising. One of such experiments is Moxie Earn.
Moxie Earn is a new form of onchain advertising built on Farcaster by the Moxie team. Simply put, Moxie Earn allows everyone to get high-quality engagement and reach for their casts beyond their regular audience on Farcaster.
Unlike existing Web2 advertising models, where big Web2 platforms milk our data, and sell it back to us in form of ‘super-targeted ads’, with no guaranteed result. Moxie Earn re-invents the wheel by creating a model that directly benefits creators and their fans.
Let me explain further — with Moxie Earn, ALL the money paid for advertising goes to creators. So, instead of paying platforms like Instagram or X, you pay users directly to promote your content or product in the feed. An important part of this is that you (the advertiser) gets to pay when you get the actual result (engagement). Let's break this down further.
Moxie Earn is completely built on Farcaster Legos — meaning that it uses Farcaster tools from top to bottom. There are three categories of Farcaster users involved in Moxie Earn advertising stack;
The Promoter/advertiser
The Earner(s).
The target audience.

Here's a simple story to explain this;
Jason is a founder who intends to launch a new product on Farcaster. He’s convinced that many Farcaster users would benefit from his new product, but there’s a challenge—he only has 500 followers on the platform.
So, how does Jason reach a larger audience to join his product waitlist?
Enter Moxie Earn…
To expand his reach, Jason signs up for a Moxie Earn campaign, which requires him to pay a minimum of 50,000 Moxie upfront.
(Isn’t this just like paying for ads on Web2 platforms?)
No!
Unlike Web2 platforms, the 50,000 Moxie Jason pays doesn’t go to Farcaster. Instead, it’s distributed as rewards to other Farcaster users who help amplify his product. In other words, Jason is paying Farcaster users directly to spread the word.
Now, meet Alex.
Alex is a Farcaster user always on the lookout for new ways to earn. When he hears about Moxie Earn from a friend, he sees a great opportunity. Alex browses his personalized feed of Moxie Earn offers and finds Jason’s content about his product. Alex chooses to promote Jason’s product (by quote-casting the particular cast).
As soon as other users engage with Alex’ cast, he earns a engagement rewards from Jason’s budget.
The result? Everyone wins — Jason reaches a wider audience for his product waitlist, and Alex earns Moxie by helping spread the word about Jason’s product launch.
It’s just Day 1 of Moxie Earn on Farcaster, and you can actually feel the excitement about Moxie Earn all over the Moxie community. In the next piece, I’ll make a detailed guide on how use Moxie Earn.
Signing out to touch some grass,
