Now, when I go diggin, Metamask actually stores a lot of our data, really.
I'm not sure about the technical aspect, but I think many people might want to disable the default option to increase privacy.
✅ We use it every day, so no need to panic though.

You can reduce permissions as follows:
Go to Metamask > Settings & Privacy > Privacy.
The top one, Phishing detection, seems like it can be left on.
Turn off all the additional options:
Show balance and token price checker
Show incoming transactions
Autodetect tokens
Batch account balance requests
Participate in Metametrics
