Have you ever got an idea in your mind and then you think that OMG I can’t do it, It’s just not the right time to do it or I don’t know how to do it or I don’t really have the confidence to do it. But you are actually getting the vibe to do it like all the universe is sending signs to do or try those things out.

Let me share some stories with you where I tried different things in my life and they turned out to be the best. There was a time when I participated in dance for the first time in my life. My audition was super horrible. Literally it was horrendous. What happened was I got on the stage for my audition for Gidha which is a folk dance of Punjab in India. My friend at that time was pushing me to go for it and I actually went for it. so, I got on the stage, started singing with little dance and what happened was my voice suddenly became squeaky and I actually kind of lost it and basically I lost my confidence. As I was trying to make it louder it was coming out more and more squeaky. And there I was standing dumb on the stage in front of a crowd in my new college and suddenly I started dancing in order to make it up for the lost voice. It was super embarrassing. At that time, I just wanted the earth to split into two pieces and I should be lying between them, like disappearing from the world.

But really when today I think of this moment, it is a good and funny memory which I am always gonna laugh at. What happened was luckily I got selected and participated for three consecutive years in Gidha and won every time. So, this embarrassing, funny audition gave me the immense confidence to get up on stage and dance in front of a thousand people without hesitation for three years. Plus the self-confidence.

Today I have zero hesitation to start anything new. Because I know at starting, things might be embarrassing. But, I just have to put myself out there and explore and try new things. you never know what is out there for you afterward one embarrassing audition.

So, keep exploring, keep trying and keep learning new things. Because it’s always a first time for everything for every person.
