In recent days, a number of Chinese citizens have been lured to smuggle to Myanmar’s Myady region on the basis of “high-paid employment” and have been asked to engage in telecommunications fraud. The Chinese Embassy in Myanmar received help information and started emergency preparedness for the first time to coordinate the rescue of the Myanmar police. The persons concerned are now safely rescued.
With regard to the illegal activities of wireless groups in the border areas of Myanmar, in violation of the interests of Chinese citizens, China attaches great importance to joint law enforcement operations with Myanmar, toughly combat illegal groups and to rescue those in distress.
The Chinese Embassy in Myanmar has once again reminded Chinese citizens of the need not to miss the so-called high-paid recruitment information for the network and to smuggle them abroad to engage in various criminal activities outside the country in order to avoid damage to the safety of life and property. In the case of illegal detention in Myanmar, victims or family members are asked to report to the police of both Central and Myanmar as soon as possible and to turn to the Chinese Consulate in Myanmar for timely police rescue.
