Night Rain

On a country night, dark clouds obscure the bright moon and heavy rain pours down, drumming on the tiled cottages. Mixed in the sound of rain are swooshing noises of the west wind blowing through the willows. Rainy wisps draw blurry streaks of light under the streetlamps, with shadows of trees swaying on the window lattices. Dogs bark back and forth in the village, sounding especially lonely and desolate through the rain.

The rainwater wets the ground by the village paths, gradually forming puddles. Some house corners are still leaking, leaving mottled water stains on the walls. The countryside is exceptionally quiet on a rainy night, with only occasional faint chirping of insects against the background of rain.

Villagers turn on dingy lights in their homes, exuding warmth from the rooms. Curls of smoke rise from chimneys, blending with the freshness of rainwater. It's a night for staying in, cherishing the coziness and security of home.

A rainy country night has its own distinct atmosphere and beauty, a poetic tranquility in simplicity, that washes the soul.
