OpenAI recently released an exciting piece of innovation—an application called Sora, which is a text-based prompt for creating videos. This leapfrogs OpenAI to the top ranks of artificial intelligence development, competing with the likes of giants Google and Meta, and emerging players like Runway ML.

Sora is remarkable due to its deep understanding of how objects relate to one another in our physical world and how it can generate scenes with real-life properties and lively, emotional animated characters. The company has already presented the capabilities of Sora by posting a couple of unedited video clips on its website. Such as, for instance, there is a video of a woman seemingly looking real, walking down a rain-soaked street in Tokyo with poise not given over to the weather. One, for example, brings to life a herd of woolly mammoths, now extinct, as they pad their way across a snow plain—huge animals, furry trunks pecking at the snow, which whirls out from under massive, hairy.
But this technological leap has not come without its set of concerns. Rachel Tobac from the United States' Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) stated that it could be used to deceive and manipulate public opinion, and therefore the risk needs to be broadly discussed.
The issue of transparency, especially in copyright and privacy, has also been put on the table.
