I am writing this at 5:20 am from my hotel bed in Hong Kong feeling a rush of excitement after a week of business meetings with other leaders. The Hong Kong government knows web3 is thriving and wants to compete with Singapore as East Asia’s top pro web3 jurisdiction. We spent most of this week meeting with Asian VC’s and powerful families investing in web3. To our surprise there are a lot of Shardians in China running nodes on Sphinx who were excited to meet us. One of China’s largest web3 VC’s has a node infrastructure arm that is running Shardeum validators. China’s top cloud infrastructure companies view the 26,000 community run validators on Sphinx as a revenue opportunity and plan to add the Shardeum validator client to their app store. It is clear Ethereum is becoming the security layer for the EVM ecosystem and execution is being pushed off chain to Layer-2 solutions. Where will apps go that need true decentralization, censorship resistance, composability and scalability? @Shardeum is positioned as the top high throughput horizontally scaled EVM-based L1. It is the only blockchain in the world to demonstrate linear scalability and auto scaling. Since the project launched 13 months ago we’ve acquired 700k testnet users, 26k community run validators and $23.7mm venture funding. Over the next 8 months our focus is to launch mainnet, grow the Shardeum brand globally, raise Series A and launch programs to support developers.
