About a decade ago I worked on a movie in New York. In true production style, the script was not ready and many of us went home early. I would rather wander Queens than go back to a rented room. So most days, I found someplace to nurse a beer and made several pages of what I called “The Sanity Index.” These are the equivalent to a notebook-margin nervous-tick-doodle for me .. I still draw these “Little Guys with Ties.”
