How Many Sunsets Go Unnoticed?

Lac Seul, Canada

The Observation

Fishing is a game of patience - hours can go by without noticing.

For no reason, you look up and simply stare across the water.

Everything stops and you feel.

The setting sun changing from the bright heat of the day to a cooler circle of dusky orange. It's wavy reflection reaching toward you.

The calm of the water gently moves the boat.

The trees are losing their detail to become silhouettes on the shores.

No sound - a void we are not used to.

A brief moment passes - your heart and mind begin to remember - calm, mindful times.

Reflection

What does it take to make us realize what we miss?

How many sunsets happen before we finally notice?
