Summary: The Berlin Fair, the host of the Berlin International Consumer Electronic Exhibition (IFA) and the gfu German Consumer Electronic Association, jointly announced on 19 September that this year’s IFA exhibit will not be scheduled for physical activity in September.
The Berlin Fair, the host of the Berlin International Consumer Electronic Exhibition (IFA) and the gfu German Consumer Electronic Association, jointly announced on 19 September that this year’s IFA exhibit will not hold physical events as originally planned.
The IFA exhibit for 2020 was held in a combination of front lines, a reduction in the number of physical participants, and was not open to the public.
The sponsor indicated on 19 September that the decision had been taken after a detailed discussion with public health experts and multiple stakeholders. At present, uncertainty over the speed of vaccinations from new coronal variants (e.g. South Asia) to all over the world will increase uncertainty for exhibitors, the media and visitors. Another factor is that the Berlin exhibit company, which had renovated some of its exhibits earlier as a vaccination centre and emergency hospital facility, may now continue to use more time than originally anticipated.
“The brand and manufacturer of the entire science and technology industry is keen to participate in the Berlin International Consumption Electronic and Household brand exhibit in 2021. Unfortunately, the most recent public health situation poses too many risks to the people’s plan of activities, as indicated by the President of the Board of Governors of the gfu Consumer Electronic Association, Hi Hillebrandt.
It is known that, despite the announcement of the current IFA exhibit, the preparations for the Berlin Photography Week and SHIFT Mobility as their side events have continued as originally planned.
The host of the IFA exhibit indicated that it was working with various partners to prepare for IFA2022. The IFA exhibit is expected to resume the pre-emergence scale in 2022 and to hold an entity exhibit at the Berlin International Exhibition Centre.
