Gems of the week 💎 03
Gems is a weekly series where I share my favorite NFT finds amongst the chaos and whirlwind of crypto. This weeks theme has unintentionally turned out to be mythological, dreamlike and otherworldly. A mix of editions, collabs, genesis and secondaries, I’m drawn to these pieces because they encourage me to dream and be somewhere I’ve never been. Ahead of the pandemic, I used to really love traveling and experiencing new places but since I’m immunocompromised, that’s all sort of been tainted tb...

Last week, luck brought me the special chance to mint an Eponym!
Eponym by ART AI is an elegant text-to-art generative algorithm that turns any words or phrases into beautiful pieces of 1/1 art.
How it works:
You input your own selection of words or phrases
AI creates art based on your text input
You decide to either mint that piece or keep regenerating until you find one mint worthy
When I jumped on, mints were in the last 1000 so I was on a mission to find something that I liked but even in a rush, I still managed to find the experience completely exciting and remarkable.
All in all, it gave us an individualized minting experience.
It was a playful activity of discovery
It was customizable
I felt like I had control over the final outcome
It's easily the most refreshing minting experience I’ve had so far.
Maybe because this was my first time working with generative art, but even then I managed to have a personalized experience with other minters who now make up the Eponym community.
Conversations post-mint were solely focused on the art and sharing how much fun we had during the experience rather than floor talk or shaming paper hands.
Eponym shows that the minting process can be an art itself—an experience both individualized, shared by a community, and super fun! I believe we shouldn’t settle for anything less. I for sure will be sticking around for Gen 2 for the chance to experience it all over again.
This micro-essay is #002 of ship30for30 challenge.
