Breaking barriers
It's my birthday today and I'm turning 26. Another year older and supposedly wiser! Here are some recent thoughts and lessons I've learned: Be courageous - be vulnerable During a routine check-up at my gynaecologist's office a few weeks ago, I found myself sitting in the waiting room alongside 2-3 other women. A middle-aged lady entered the room looking visibly unwell. She sighed and appeared anxious and scared. Although I felt the urge to ask her if she was okay, I decide...

Digital fashion etc
Here are some thoughts I had in the past week and a half. passive vs active fashion This week, the topic that stayed with me after a conversation with my co-founder was the connection between clothing and self-expression. This conversation quickly evolved into a broader discussion about how people approach life. From my observations, many people live their lives passively, conforming to societal norms and pursuing what is generally considered "good". This is evident not only in their behaviou...

Cherry pie & Rick Rubin on Creativity
1. Kindness doesn’t cost a thingI've been reflecting on some meaningful experiences from this week. I was fortunate enough to cross paths with two individuals who have left a lasting impression on me. The first was Joseph, the owner of a charming deli across the street. The second was music producer Rick Rubin, who I discovered through a friend's shared interview. Joseph's warm and welcoming energy was apparent from the moment I walked into his deli. He greeted me with a cheerf...

I have decided to document my daily thoughts, learnings and findings. I will sort my thoughts into findings and reflect on the lessons of little or big events in my life. This will include on my learnings and experiences as an entrepreneur and touch on my relationship with myself. Who knows, it might even improve my English, or at least give me a good laugh while trying.
Have you ever had that feeling of knowing you need to change something or start a new habit, but keep putting it off until a consequence of your procrastination confronts you? This happened to me when I found the once-shiny charging cable of my MacBook, now partially coated in sticky orange residue, at the bottom of my laptop bag. It was in that moment of frustration and self-disappointment that I realized I needed to change the way I organized my belongings. Despite knowing my bag was cluttered, I hadn't taken action until an old multivitamin pill burst and stained my white cable an unsightly orange-brown colour (and this was the fabric type, not one that can be easily wiped). I made a promise to myself to take better care of my things.

At the end of each episode, we ask our guests a few lighthearted closing questions. Some answers are straightforward and as expected. But sometimes, the answer truly makes you ponder. We asked Jon what superpower he'd like to have, secretly expecting something like the ability to predict the future. But Jon's answer was the complete opposite. To paraphrase, he said he'd like to have the power to fully live in the present moment. In today's world, we often live in either the future or the past, constantly planning, preparing, or worrying. Our attention is constantly divided. However, life is happening right now and that's what makes life so beautiful. That’s where life happens!
Walking through Soho with a friend, we stumbled upon my favourite ice cream shop. This shop holds a special place in my heart, not because of the number of times I've purchased ice cream there (due to my mild lactose intolerance), but because of the circumstances surrounding each visit and the unique flavours. I was disappointed to see that my favourite flavour, tahini, was not on the menu. With my friend not interested in getting any ice cream, I was about to leave when a thought occurred to me, "Why not ask?" The ice cream vendor told me that the flavour had been taken off the menu, but she would check with a colleague to see if there were any leftovers from the previous week. To my delight, her colleague came back with the news that they had one last pot of tahini ice cream in the freezer. Just for me. And boy, was it the best tahini ice cream I've ever had. Ice cream with life learnings sprinkled on top tastes even better!
