Beyond the vibrant landscape of New Miami City, Max Lenner's journey to superstardom is highlighted as a true testament to the American dream. Growing up in the heart of the urban jungle, Max faced adversity early on in life. Being the eldest of 5 children raised by a single mother in a neighborhood plagued with poverty and carnage, he was thrust into manhood and left to fend for the safety and protection of his household as a child. Despite the odds stacked against him, Max's upbringing instilled in him a fierce sense of ambition to provide for his family, paired with an unyielding aspiration to uplift the people in his community.
Max's life changes forever when the The Phenomenon strikes, being one of the few to emerge with special powers – the ability to generate electricity throughout his body. These newfound abilities become character-defining traits, reshaping his identity as Max Lightning. Shortly after discovering his abilities, Vector approaches him. Initially hesitant to join the Renegades, Max is swayed by Vector's impassioned plea for justice and the chance to make a real difference in the city.
As a member of the Renegades, Max channels his electrifying abilities to aid in the fight against G.E.N Corp, navigating the challenges of his dual life as a Hip-Hop Superstar and a freshly recruited-member The Renegades.
