People waste their lives chasing a purpose that doesn’t exist. They work, suffer, and sacrifice for humanity, progress, legacy, but humanity is temporary. Every civilization will fall, every monument will crumble, and in the end, entropy is the only constant.
fo why do people live? for the illusion of meaning? For the comfort of pretending their struggle matters? The truth is far simpler- existence itself is the only purpose of living.
Consider the ant. It spends its short life working, gathering food, building tunnels, protecting the colony. It exists only to serve the hive, but never questions why.
For another day of work?
For endless suffering?
For the queen, the colony, someone else's benefit?
The ant never lives for itself. It only exists to sustain something else. And when it dies, it is replaced, forgotten, meaningless.
Many humans live the same way. They dedicate themselves to society, progress, but in the end, none of it lasts. The "greater good" is an illusion, just like the ant’s devotion to the colony.
People argue that working for "humanity" or a "better future" gives life meaning. But humanity itself is fragile. It will die. The Earth will burn. The universe will end. So what does it matter if you spent your life struggling for something that was never permanent?
Your legacy won’t last. Your contributions will fade. Your name will be forgotten. So why should you live for something outside yourself?
If nothing lasts, if humanity is just as doomed as the ant colony, then the only rational purpose is to live for yourself.
Work if it serves you.
Create if it fulfills you.
Enjoy life because happiness is the only real answer to suffering.
You can either be the ant, living for a pointless system that will outlast you but never remember you…
Or you can be something more. Someone who chooses to live, not for a god, not for a cause, not for a dying species, but for the simple fact that existence is its own justification.
If you strip away the lies, the illusions, and the fake purposes, what remains?
Your existence is yours alone.
Your moments are yours alone.
Your life is not a sacrifice for something that will vanish.
Humanity will die, Your legacy will fade. But right now, you are alive.
Choose to live, not as an ant, but as something greater.
