As of today Photure the startup will cease to exist. We are in the process of converting it to an open source project that can be built and run by anyone. Turning Photure into an open source project does not close the door on our mission to bring decentralized media to the world - it allows for others to build on what we’ve already done and keep driving the mission forward.

Personally my decision to move on from Photure came down to a combination of burnout, lack of true belief in our business model, and generally not knowing what to do next as a company.

Although we did not complete what we set out to do; this past year building Photure has been incredible - we connected people with great photographers, served thousands of users, and had amazing experiences along the way. For all of this, I’m deeply thankful. I want to thank each and every one of our users, photographers, partners, investors, and team members. It’s been an amazing journey and an absolute pleasure to have you all as a part of Photure.

Again, I want to thank everyone involved in Photure for giving us a chance and allowing us to build something special. All the best in your future endeavors.
