I don't know what it is exactly. There are many things to draw someone in: the space offers a wide variety of opportunities to build, to make money, to experiment, to be a part of something. Radical ownership, community ownership, falling away of old power structures, and the reinvention of old ways into something new. A foot in the door for anyone willing to put in the effort.
