WOW Pixies Roadmap 2.0

Over the past month, our team has been watching and taking notes closely on what has been discussed and we want to put all of your considerations when building out Roadmap 2.0.

Roadmap 1.0 was designed to get our DAO started, gain some liquidity and make purchases of projects we wanted to support.

Roadmap 2.0 is focused on building community strength, bringing value back to holders, and forging an unbreakable brand, whilst simultaneously still continuing our mission to support women-led projects.

šŸ’” Our Roadmaps going forward are not typical roadmaps due to the nature of our DAO. We are here to build structure so that we can involve you every step of the way. Each component is a starting point in which we will learn and adapt as a DAO.

Click here to read what we achieved in Roadmap 1.0.

🧠 Part A: Empowering our DAO with more decision-making

In our first roadmap, we introduced a proposal process where our community can suggest projects the DAO can support in a specified Discord channel. The suggestions are vetted through our ā€œCurator Clubā€ (10 Pixies with Purple Rainbow Hair Trait), and then a proposal is put up on Snapshot for the DAO to vote on.

We wanted to introduce more ways for the community to be involved in Roadmap 2.0.

1. Pixie Work Stations

  • Empowering our DAO with more decision-making and a place where you can build Web3 experience

    Why Pixies Work Stations?

There are 2 main reasons we want to build pixie work stations within the DAO.

    1. We want to involve all of your ideas in the direction that Pixies goes. We have an amazing array of backgrounds, intelligent and thoughtful members that can really help strengthen this DAO through your respective skills.

    2. Many of our members have talked about also having a way to formalise their web3 experience to go on and potentially seek a career in this space for the long term. Our mission aside from investing in women-led projects is to make sure that our members have the capabilities to build the future we want to see in this space to create more equality and diversity.

*We have created (for now), 7 pixie work stations.*

Initial Process:

  1. We will first be nominating 2-4 leads for each work station. They can also be split into different sub-work station groups.

  2. These leads will help build out the structure of these groups and their tenure will be voted in for 3 months.

  3. Once the initial structure has been built and been set up, we will then invite the rest of the DAO to contribute to the various projects in each group.

How will you be recognised that you have contributed?

  • As a project lead: Someone who has been voted in for a 3 month tenure to lead a subset of projects. Whilst this is a higher time commitment, it’s for those who are serious in building experience and expertise in the web3 space.

  • As a contributor: Anyone in the DAO who wants to help on a more ad-hoc basis. Active contributors will be looked into to become Project Leads in the future.

šŸ’” Every 2-3 months, you can request to have your contribution minted on the blockchain as a ā€œresumeā€ on web3. Our core team or group team leads will then approve your contributions.

Here’s an example of my role as cofounder proven by @wwoctopus which I can mint as an NFT

šŸš€Ā Part B: Bringing more utility and value to Pixies

Here are 3 ways that we would love to contribute back to the community. However, it’s not limited to these 3 areas and once again, only a starting point.

1. Proposal to run Pixie Market for 3 months: a social experiment to tie the value of your Pixie to the DAO

  • The question often comes up on how we can tie the value of the vault with our NFT or ā€˜fractionalise your asset’ without it becoming a security. We took inspiration from Gary Vee’s Book Games to create a smaller version called Pixie Market. This method aims to always value Pixies at more than the current market value of the items in the vault.

šŸ’” The idea is that you can exchange x amount of Pixies for items in the vault. We will only ever put up <15-20% of the items in the vault at any given time.

This helps the value of pixies in a couple ways.

    1. Larger holders may decide to hold their pixies instead of selling them off so they can trade for one of the larger NFTs in the vault. These holders may also try to acquire more ā€œfloorā€ pixies so they don’t trade in their ā€œrareā€ pixies.

    2. It sets a solid floor for pixies. For example, if pixies fall below 0.1 eth, and 80 pixies = 1 WOW (where the floor is 10 eth), it becomes lucrative for new investors to buy up pixies to make the trade. Similarly if items like WOW increase in price more rapidly than pixie’s prices, it makes it lucrative to buy many pixies to attempt to make the trade. We will offer NFTs of various values so all pixies can participate in the Pixie Market if they wish, whether it be 1 pixie for a WOW airdrop, or 25 pixies for a Boss Beauty etc.

Won’t this drain our vault quickly?

No, for a couple of reasons.Ā We will price the items at a level where it doesn’t initially make sense to trade in pixies, where the number of pixies pricing total > the trade-in item.Ā We will also limit a % of the vault to be available for trade at any given time. Once all of the trades have happened, we will then put up new items at newly evaluated prices.

If the items in the vault were suddenly to increase in price, it begins to make sense to trade.Ā However, based off simple economics, when holders start to buy up pixies to trade, this should also push up the value of pixies themselves, to reach a point where the trade-in stops making sense.

šŸ’” In this way, pixies should always maintain value in relation to the value in the vault, increasing as items increase, and not falling below a certain threshold, while still keeping our vault full of NFTs.

How does this benefit all Pixie holders?

When a trade in-occurs, the value of all pixies should rise as our percentage of vault ownership increases. For example, if 1,111 of the 5,555 pixies get traded into the vault, the outstanding 4,444 will theoretically be 20% more valuable due to the reduction in supply.

Will the Project founders be able to trade in their pixies?

    • No, founders will be excluded from the Pixie Market to keep things fair for all

What will we do with the pixies that have been traded in?

One possibility is that whilst traded-in pixies will not be placed back in the market, it can be potentially used to experiment with NFT staking, in which returns can be then used to reward contributors of the DAO work stations.

2. Purchasing 1/1 artworks from our female community artists each month and airdropping to holders

  • There are many talented artists in our DAO and this is our first step in supporting them.

    Sample Process:

    1. We will host an art competition based on a theme

    2. Applications will be submitted through a discord channel

    3. Applications will be narrowed down by the Charity Club

    4. We will cast a vote through the DAO on which artists to commission in the following months

Benefits to WOW Pixie: We will then airdrop the commissioned art pieces to all of our holders.

We can either allocate a portion of our DAO funds or separate charity funds to make this purchase. This should be no more than 1 eth per month.

    3. Increasing the Pixie Bank and having flexibility on how we can reward contributors

    • When we’re not buying up projects, we have ETH just sitting in our community wallet. One of the suggestions from the community is to explore various defi options so that we are putting this ETH to use in providing us extra liquidity.

    • The DAO can explore and research different avenues of defi, such as liquidity pools, token staking, or other defi solutions to grow our DAO’s passive income before putting it to a vote.

    • If there are any returns, we can use this to fund some of our operations as well as contributors in the DAO.

šŸ’” Aside from the above, our team will simultaneously be working on collaborations with other brands, projects, and DAOs to bring win-win opportunities to Pixie holders.

šŸ‘‘Ā Part C: Building the Pixies Brand

1. Launch a DAO-created 10k NFT Collection: Pixies World

  • We are in the process of incorporating in Singapore under the name Pixies World (play on WOW Pixies). Many of you have asked whether or not we have IP rights for WOW Pixies. As a team, we don’t feel comfortable giving IP and commercial rights for a derivative of World of Women. However, this new collection of Pixies will give you more ownership over the IP and commercial rights of your Pixie.

    • We will be aiming to give opportunities to people in the DAO to find both an artist and developer from our community to create this collection

    • We will be hosting competitions and voting as a collective on the final designs

    • You will get a say on what the end product will look like

    • Future utility of this collection includes a 3D Voxel version playable in the metaverse

As part of the DAO, you will be guaranteed one free mint per Pixie that you currently own. This will also guarantee mints for future projects such as 3D Voxels when we step into the metaverse + much more (roadmap 3.0). The value of your WoW Pixies will not decrease with this new launch as it will still be the only access point into the DAO as voters and decision makers for future projects.

    2. Co-create and launch merchandising for the Pixie brand

Our design and arts workspace will put together a structure or template for hosting a merchandise competition which will involve the entire DAO. The one with the most votes will be part of the process in creating merchandise together.
