Getting Started with Cyball

Hello everyone! I am Louis--A GAMER.

I have a certain understanding of football tactics and player skills due to my abundant football manager games experiences before.

Recently, I met many friends to discuss Cyball with me, which is a super-hot football manager blockchain game. Among the discussion, the most asked question is why their deck win rate is so low that it does not reach the ideal value.

Let me introduce what I have played in the past two days:

Now the game only launches the casual mode in PVP:

Players are required to have three cards to start a match;

During each match there are six rounds in total, divided into two halves;

Key events always happen at the beginning of every round, which will require one or two Cyblocs to take part in; After choosing the Cybloc, we need to select one tactic card to execute (there are six random tactics cards available in every round).

Key events are also random and will require different skill(User should pick the suitable Cybloc to take part in)

Players need to choose appropriate tactics and Cyblocs when random events occur.

I bought the cards on February 23rd.

But in fact, before I bought the card, I had thought about which lineup I wanted (for example, should I focus on teamwork to win? Or should I develop tactics around core players to win? Should I go all out on offense or emphasize defensive counterattack?)

I choose to emphasize offense as  my lineup, because the decisive condition of the game is to score goals. I will share my experience with you from three aspects: cost, game experience, and tactical selection:

Cost

I spent a total of 5700 BUSD to buy three Cyblocs ---one gold and two silver;

Gold: overall ability is 61; with two traits(Front Runner; Dual Poacher)

Silver1: Overall ability is 55; with two traits(No Sweat; Super Striker)

Silver2: Overall ability is 52; with two traits (International Sensation; Battery Lover)

Among them, I think the silver 1 Cybloc with 55 stats is very useful. He has a trait called No Sweat, this trait makes him never get tired in matches, that means he can always take part in random key events.

*For the detailed description of various traits, players can go to the official white paper to read, which will be skipped here:

Game Experience

Until this article was written, I've played 40 matches with a win rate of about 75% and earned 460 CBT in total.

During these matches, I've met double legendary plus one platinum opponent three times; three platinum opponents twice, and  three gold opponents once, all of which I lost. On the flip side, I won all of my encounters with single platinum and double gold or less lineups.

Each Cybloc will get a skill point after each upgrade, and you can add points according to the value of the ability you want to improve. Based on my current experience, I think that except for the striker (the one who mainly scores goals), you can add the Shooting skill, and the rest can add the Tackling skill first.

Those who have played Cyball should find that the Tacking is especially important because the key to deciding whether you win or lose is to be able to score goals, and how to score more goals requires getting more possessions. This is why I value the Tackling of the Cyblock.

It is recommended that newcomers who do not know how to choose Cyblocs can pay more attention to the traits and 6 skill values that come with each Cybloc.

Tactical Options

In each game, the choice of tactic cards is also very important; the first and second halves each have 4 tactical energy points (i.e. after the 4 tactical energy points are exhausted in the first half, in the second half, there will be a new 4 tactical energy points; at the same time, the player's stamina will be refreshed and restored in the second half)

*Regarding the tactics cards, players can first familiarize themselves with the meaning of each tactic in the white paper:

https://docs.cyball.com/game-mechanics-and-features/match-engine-mechanics/tactics

I'll start with a few of my go-to tactics briefly.

In the opening stage, I would look at what tactics I can use in the first half. If there is a Backup Power card, then just use it, it will grain you two tactic energy. Then, based on the situation on the field to choose the suitable tactic card.

If you take the lead in the first round, then you can use cards that could weaken your opponent (like Can't Keep Up); if you tie in the first round, try to use tactical power effect type tactic cards to increase your tactical energy or weaken your opponent's tactical energy such as using Stun to prevent your opponent from using tactic cards in the next key event;

If you are scored by your opponent in the first round,then you can choose a must-kill technique (only the must-kill technique consumes 2 tactical energy points) and try to keep the first half score ahead or lose the game. In this way the tactical energy and stamina are refreshed in the second half before coming back to prepare for the game.

Generally, I choose to go all out in the first half, and then decide what tactics to use in the second half based on the situation at halftime.

In short, in order to increase your win rate, you must know every available tactic as much as possible; guys can keep an eye on the official white paper.

Conclusion

The current difficulty of Cyball is still relatively easy to get started, so let your Cyblocs upgrade and improve your ability before the league is opened.

Game will launch more gameplays  subsequently including the coaching team and trainees. If I have more insights will be issued again to share with you, I hope my experience is useful to you, wish you more rice collection!
