At the core of crypto economy is the mechanism for ownership of assets without any intermediary trust assumptions. The distributed ledger ensures that you don’t have to trust ‘a’ entity to prove the ownership or that ‘a’ entity can take the ownership of an asset.

This simple thing opens lots of interesting doors to develop the new economy. Fungible and Non-Fungible assets are all built on this core principle. At first sight for external observer it does not make sense that why would anybody pay a million dollar for a jpeg while they can just coy/save-as the same. I have seen this argument from even those who are hardcore bitcoin supporter which tells how much gap there is in getting the true understanding of the underlying technology. It is not about the jpeg, it is about the ownership, a sense of belonging, a sense of community that gives value to these assets. Jpegs that you see are just an experience that some platform choose to show you for that ownership. Any kind of experience can be built for those who own that asset. If you just focus on the jpeg, you are missing the big picture.
