One thing that’s often overlooked in the rush of the crypto space is the human force that drives forward every business, project, and art piece.
It’s easy to look at a product and see it for the result of its code, or UI, but that code is the product of a person(s) sitting at their keyboard, manifesting modern digital alchemy as they turn bits into meaningful experiences.
Pob Studio, for example, is the product of two. We are two people from different places on Earth with vastly different backgrounds, brought together by a vision to produce art that pushes the boundaries of NFTs. We spent years working together before even meeting in person. Together, we found a way of operating that is focused on a different sort of pursuit and is frankly more honest, if you will, to who we are as creators.
It’s the humanizing force behind our art—that the studio is a product of just two people on a mission. To elaborate on this further, our pursuit is one of maximum creativity and optimism towards a future where our craft can be enjoyed forever. To that end, there’s a certain pace of development and creative output that we uphold. Our approach is a focused one and begs us to be honest with ourselves throughout the process.
We can all acknowledge what it feels like when you aren’t being true to yourself, and as creators, we’ve learned that the path of an artist is simply more exciting and less distracting when our perspectives are about enjoying making art for the sake of making art and remaining true to who we are as people. Of course, this doesn’t neglect the business aspect of the work but merely emphasizes that it is possible to be yourself in a space full of noise.
As markets pick up pace, it can be easy to get distracted and perhaps start to wonder if your project contains the right features or can be competitive in the marketplace, but we believe the key to developing something special is a focused approach that brings out your best work.
It’s all too easy to fall into the trap of thinking that your voice isn’t being heard or that your work isn’t being recognized. But be honest, you likely didn’t start your journey for recognition; you started it because, in a split moment of inspiration, your idea was so powerful and exciting that you embarked on that mission regardless of the risks.
Paul Graham teaches that just by remaining ‘default alive’ and outlasting others in your industry, you will often capture a significant increase in market share anyway. In our industry, this couldn’t be more true, as our fellow generative art studios battle with the gripe of the markets today.
We know the hand we’ve got, and we aren’t in a rush to unveil all of our cards. We spent well over two years creating technology that will be at the core of all our coming projects. From UI components that can be readily repurposed, auction mechanics, and our in-house NFT design standard, we invested a serious amount of time honing in on what we believe to be some of the most bleeding-edge features produced by an NFT studio today.
We are more focused than ever on building an ecosystem of projects that benefit from these core components, and we are working on something incredible built around the Ethverse. This will be the centre of the Pob Kingdom.
To end this off, years ago Christian asked David about his dream job. David’s response left a lasting impact.
David said that he founded Pob Studio so he could create his last job ever.
Pob Studio is our sanctuary, and it allows us the perfect place for self-expression as creatives. Our business is a reflection of who we are as people and serves us in our pursuits. That is the endgame state of the studio. 🫡
