Inner Flame

You Keep it Alive

Within, I look, I see, I feel your presence
Without, I feel nothing, I see nothing, I become nothing
It's you who carries me, it's you who lets me float,
In your remembrance I exist,
In your devotion, I rest

You make me calm, you make me see myself
The good, the evolution, the need to be,
And in the same moment, the breath
You tell me everything is nothing, oh holy flame
What is this beauty that keeps surrendering?

I am the seeker, I am the meaning
I am you and you is me, and together we are formless
Just a point in the entire Universe which is itself,
is full
in its own

How can we fathom this truth with our minds and hearts?
Give us the strength to understand this part -

As we bow down to our own strengths and struggle,
Lift us up so we can depart - depart from our own weaknesses
and merge into the ocean of your only truth

Make us find our purpose,
make us realise the way we should be
for we know not how long we have been
and how long
we shall be

Oh, holy flame -
you are kinder than the kindness we can internalise
you are more loving than the love we could ever define
you are humbler than humility itself

how do we imbibe the entire You or how do we release
everything that we must - to find you and become, you

In gratitude, all I can offer is this moment of existence
that you bestowed me with since the inception of time

and in this holy debt all I now wish is to shine my light -
brighter than ever before just to present it to you
and celebrate your shrine
