There’s a lot to break down so..
The Metaverse isn’t quite here yet — but the seeds of it are. It’s not just a marketing word that VC groups like to hear.
Take blockchain gaming, VR/AR/WebXR and cryptocurrency. Put them all in a pot and mix in some open-source idealism and big brains. Throw in a jar of interoperability. Add a dash of Decentraland, The Sandbox, VR Chat, Somnium Space and Axie. Stir until a seamless network of virtual worlds/blockchain games/online experiences forms.
That’s what the metaverse will be. Think Ready Player One. Snow Crash too.

As things become increasingly connected, it’s not hard to imagine users wanting (& expecting) to take their ‘stuff’ (items, avatars, accounts, abilities etc), their in-game currency and their accounts from one virtual world/game to another.
BYOPills will be one of the items you carry with you on your digital journey.** BYOPills are consumables for the Metaverse.**
Mario had a mushroom, the Doomslayer had quad damage and that fucking wizard in World of Warcraft likely had a mana potion or ten.
Thanks to the blockchain, Mario can now take his mushroom into New World where it transforms into a sweet visual effect for his weapon. He’ll then hop on to VR Chat to talk smack to Bowser and that same mushroom will morph into a middle finger emoji.
That’s what Metaverse NFT interoperability will look like and that’s one of the goals of the project — to contribute to the foundation of the Metaverse Consumable Economy.
Is the Metaverse Economy going to be a big deal? The co-founder of tether sure thinks so. BYOPills will be part of the consumable niche in the Metaverse. I’m not aware of any other projects that are focusing on this.

The utility that BYOPills provide will change depending on the implementation in each digital space but the concept is to always grant holders some kind of** bonus experience**. Visual experiences [trips], stat boosts, unique items, access to exclusive features and areas are all things that have been discussed.
Some of these benefits will come in the form of NFTs airdropped to pill holders. Those will be freely tradable on the secondary market.
Other benefits will come from direct BYOPill implementation [tied to having the pill in your wallet].
The reward for completing the BYOPillxWonderquest event in DCL. DJ set you could enjoy in the ‘verse.
Who knows, maybe we’ll end up using our BYOPills to farm other NFT consumables that we can sell. BYOPill farmers setting up stores all over the metaverse. A pillhead’s dream, right. Maybe it’s more than just a dream..
The team’s first post-mint milestone was the release of the Trip Replicator app on both iOS and Android. Each pill trip effect has a visual element linked to it. The app checks the pills you hold and allows you to apply visual effects to a picture/video. You can export the finished product and share it/mint it/show it to your mum. The release of this app marked the first example of BYOPill utility and how the team can start delivering experiences that bridge the online/offline world.

Every metaverse project needs avatars.

The team have been working on 3D, fully rigged, game-ready avatars known as Apostles. The mint requires ‘using’ a BYOPill + burning an Access Key. The Apostles are expected to make their appearance (mint) in mid/late October.

The mechanics behind this mint are worth noting as they provide another example of the kind of pill utility we can expect going forward. Modifiers will be placed on your mint based on your pill traits+number of pills in your wallet.

The resulting avatar will be utilized in the BYOVerse — a fully 3D virtual world that’s in development. The team have certainly been busy and recently released this Induction Program vid that shows where the project is currently at and hints at where we’re going..
The Apostles will be your identity in this world. Each tier of Apostle will have different advantages in the BYOVerse. These benefits will come in the form of unique passive abilities, boosted stats etc.
Another new development is the announcement that each Apostle will passively generate the utility $TRYP token, $TRYP will power the BYOVerse economy…
Yes. $TRYP will be used for all kinds of things. Want to upgrade and customize your Apostle? Use some $TRYP. Want a discount on an item? Use $TRYP. Forge an upgraded item? Use $TRYP. Want to give kEBZ some funds to upgrade the BYOBell? Use $TRYP.
You’re going to be able to rent them out to other people. If you don’t have time to enter the BYOVerse, find someone who does. Let them rent your Apostle from you. In fact, you probably won’t need to go looking for someone to rent your avatar to. They’ll come looking for you. Scholarships, anyone?

What can we expect from the BYOVerse?
We can expect a 3D world. In this world, many things will be NFTs. In some games you need to chop down trees to gather wood that you can use to craft new gear. In the BYOVerse, that wood will be an NFT and live in your wallet until you use or trade it. There will be** quests, treasure hunts, PVP events**.. a lot is going to go down in the BYOVerse. Many stories will be told. Bells will be rung. Caves will be explored.
As the core of the project, BYOPills will have special utility in the BYOVerse. They’ll be required to access the marketplace. There’ll be unique abilities tied to your pills. You will be using your pills as blueprints to craft consumable, limited versions of your pill. These can then be sold or rented to other players. Pill holders can become drug store owners in the BYOVerse, if they want.
A partnership has already been formed with Decentraland and BYOPill owners have just received their first DCL wearable airdrop.
BYOPill integration in play-to-earn gaming + metaverse experience projects is happening too. Partnerships have been announced with Chibi Warriors, Galaxy Fight Club and DJ Alison Wonderland’s Wonderquest.
Non-gaming partnership with lostboy — a NFT project that aims to provide a support community to people suffering from poor mental health.
The team are continually looking out for new partners/opportunities for implementation of the BYOPills and there have already been early talks with The Sandbox, Star Atlas, Tools of Rock and some AAA game studios 👀
