I want to start this article with complete honesty. I never thought an account like mine could get monetized.
But there was always this thought in the back of my mind telling me: if I spend so much time on this app, the least Elon could do is pay me for the time invested here, right? 🤔
I started my journey toward monetization on 𝕏 about a month ago, and throughout this process I used two very different strategies that were shared with me. Special thanks to Alex and DWebbs, who acted as my mentors during this journey.
The idea behind this article is to walk you through the pros and cons of each strategy, both of which I tested and confirmed work in their own way.
I also want to show you that absolutely everyone has the ability to monetize their account with just a bit of effort and creativity ✍🏻
Let’s start with the “evil” strategy. It’s not really evil, but the name adds some drama to the story, lol.
The Evil Pengu strategy focuses on triggering fast, primal emotions in the human brain rather than rational thinking. Without further introduction, this strategy is all about ragebait.
Ragebait has proven over time to work extremely well on social media because it does not appeal to logic. Instead, it targets pride, ego, a sense of belonging, or the fear of being on the “wrong side” of things.
Now let’s add the second ingredient.
There is another factor that has been generating massive outrage on social media. When combined with ragebait, it becomes an explosive cocktail for impressions: AI.
Today, 𝕏 is flooded with AI generated content, especially images and videos.
The Evil Pengu strategy does not work on posts that are obviously created with AI. It works the other way around. It is most effective when used on content we know is real. You know what I mean.
If there is a random “tralalero tralala” video, we already know it’s AI. There is no need to comment saying it’s AI.
But if there is a movie trailer, an insane sports play, animals, interviews, or any viral real moment, that’s where The Evil Pengu does its magic.
Sometimes all it takes is a simple comment like “AI”, “This is clearly AI”, or “AI generated” to trigger a chain reaction. People feel compelled to check the tweet and reply no matter what.
Using The Evil Pengu strategy, I generated around 2.5M impressions in about a week and a half. However, I found it very exhausting. It was not fun to do, and in the long run I ended up abandoning it. It works well, but it does not align with the type of account I want to build.
Here are some tips if you want to try this strategy:
The video should be posted recently. The earlier you reply, the better the results. Timing is key. Ideally within the first 10 hours of the original tweet.
Analyze the impression count of the original tweet. Anything in the 300k to 1M range is a good target.
Your reply should be short and straight to the point, like the examples above.
Never use more than one line of text.
Take advantage of global events shortly after they happen. This multiplies outrage. Be careful though, you will receive a lot of hate.
Abusing this strategy by replying “AI” to everything will mess up your algorithm and your TL will become garbage for days or weeks. Be ready to stop and clean things up when needed.
I have to admit that I did not think this approach would work. But with The Pudgy Way, replying with positivity, being kind, offering support, or simply sharing Pengu GIFs led to unreal results for an account like mine.
This strategy does not require much overthinking. It’s simply about using your creativity and being a good pengu.
The funny thing is that this approach has been right in front of us the whole time, yet for some reason we choose not to see it.
We tend to believe that only negativity goes viral. But positive content also spreads, and often generates even more engagement from readers.
Pengu is an extremely lovable character. Use that to your advantage. Sometimes a short text, or even just a single GIF, is enough to generate thousands of impressions.

Using Pengu GIFs or images is optional. But if you can monetize on X while also proliferating Pudgy Penguins, it becomes a beautiful two in one.
Once again, the strategy is simple. Be positive, be creative, and spread good vibes.
Here are some tips for this strategy as well:
The timing of the original post is not that important. I had great results even replying to posts that were over a day old.
The number of impressions on the original post also matters less. Creativity in your reply is what counts.
Short replies are always key. Never more than one line.
There are Pudgy Penguins GIFs for absolutely everything, even very specific situations. Use this to your advantage.
You need to put in the work. Do not expect a single reply to go viral. The more you reply, the higher your chances of generating impressions. Eventually it turns into a snowball effect that keeps growing.
With around 500 replies, I generated approximately 4.5M impressions over three days. The biggest spike was 3.5M impressions and 16.8K likes in a single day. So trust me when I say this strategy works extremely well if you do the work properly.
Now you have all the tools you need to monetize your account.
It all comes down to the effort and intention you put into it.
So, which strategy are you going to choose? 🐧✨
