Hi All,
Cosmo and Riddler here! We want to write this post to tell the community our story and our vision for Qubes. A little bit more about us: we met in a small high school in central New York. Our love for puzzles began soon after we discovered Cicada 3301 on Reddit, which later turned into an obsession for finding and solving the most intricate escape rooms in NYC. Our knack for puzzle-solving continued into college, where we studied information systems and computer science.
After graduating, we both became immersed in the world of NFTs, trading hundreds of them, and for the most part, losing money. We were disappointed with the constant rugs, outlandish promises, and P2E games that would take years to develop after mint. Our disappointment quickly fueled our motivation to create our own community-driven project.
The vision for the project was initially conceived in January. We curated a dynamic team of designers, developers, engineers and marketing experts to help bring this vision to life, and after 4 months of development, we decided it was time to share our idea with the world. We launched our Twitter only a few weeks ago, and we’re quickly growing an incredible community who are vital in helping to bring our vision to fruition.
We’re sure many of you have participated in random giveaways over Twitter, hoping that your retweet, like, or comment is the one out of the thousands that gets randomly selected to win. Time and time again, the giveaway is awarded to strategic fake accounts and influencers. Instead, we want our community to demonstrate their unique skill sets and to work together to win. And, rather than payout some bullshit ERC-20 token, our prizes are ETH. We also don’t want our community to have to spend hours or days stuck in front of their screens tirelessly solving puzzles. We are striving to create the perfect balance, not taking up too much of your time, while still giving you the chance to demonstrate your wits and leave with a bounty.
We know firsthand how a shared desire to solve puzzles can manifest into a lifelong friendship; we hope that our puzzles will create thousands more. We intentionally designed them to be nearly impossible for one person to solve on their own –– after all, there is no “I” in “Team.” Every person will bring different perspectives and strengths to their team, allowing for a better shot at winning when working together. Community is at the heart of our project.
We’ve learned that transparency is key to building trust among the community. Our DMs are always open, and we welcome the community to message us with suggestions or feedback, both positive and negative.
We have a lot more to come. This is just the first piece of the puzzle.
-Cosmo and Riddler
