Haunting the Hungry Ghosts
Foodie Culture Coming to the BlockchainIn this article I review the ‘Hungry Ghost Social Club’, a project built around connecting foodies through the NFT space. If you like web3 and good food, keep reading…Whilst sitting in a Twitter Space a while back, I was browsing through the profiles of some of the speakers. This is something I have found myself doing plenty as of late (I’m even listening to one as I write this). But in this particular space that I was listening to, I was reading into on...

Building Together with the BlockchainAre you interested in joining a community of passionate entrepreneurs? Excited to find opportunities to learn, build and collaborate? This is one for you…Finally, a project that I learned about outside of a twitter space. I’ve always fancied myself as the type to create something of my own, so when I heard of opportunities to align myself with the entrepreneurial crowd, I took them. Many of these have come thanks to the Flaming Galahs’ community, including...

Are you someone who likes a good laugh? Perhaps you’re struggling with your mental health? This could certainly be a project to follow…
Here comes another project I have fortunately had plenty of opportunity to get to know thanks them being a member of the Aussie Alpha Collective, and a product of Medy Labs (the company behind NFT Brisvegas). Between the personal interaction and the project’s goal to combine comedy and community, it was a no-brainer to get behind the ‘Outback Martians’.

Another project coming from the Sunshine State, the Outback Martians are built around the adage that ‘laughter is the best medicine’. With the founding team including a couple veterans, there is a foundational understanding of the detrimental effects that mental health can have, so that is the core issue that the project sets out to address. As part of this initiative, they have selected the Black Dog Institute and Legacy as charities to donate to, regarding mental health and veteran support respectively. Additionally, they already have a strong community that are ready and willing to support each other (and from what I’ve learned, have already made a strong impact on some lives).
If you’ve been around the web 3.0 space for a while, I’m sure you’ve heard of P2E (play-to-earn) gaming. As part of the comedy facet of the project, the Outback Martians plan to introduce ‘Laugh-to-Earn’, through which holders would be rewarded for regularly engaging with events. Events are slated to occur both in the metaverse and at an IRL OM comedy venue.
At this point I have yet to even cover the lore behind the eponymous extraterrestrials that form the NFT collection, but that’s something I’ll leave you to discover in your own research.
So whether you’re someone who loves a good laugh or someone who might need a mental hand up, the Outback Martians are certainly a project to follow along with. You can learn more from their website.
