In our previous article, we dissected Maverick's ve-model, highlighting its strengths and weaknesses. Now, let's explore how Rogue tackles these challenges through novel mechanisms.
Before diving into our solutions, let's recap the limitations of veMAV:
Token Lockup: Acquiring voting power requires locking MAV, exposing users to price volatility risks.
Exponential Decay: The need for constant lock extensions to maintain maximum voting power due to the exponential decay in the locking formula.
Lack of Transferability: veMAV tokens are non-transferable, limiting their utility in DeFi.

Instead of locking MAV on Maverick to acquire veMAV, do it on Rogue to receive rMAV, our in-house synthetic. rMAV changes dynamics in three ways :
rMAV is transferable: this means you have liquidity over your assets and can keep using them across DeFi. We transform MAV into a productive asset.
Example: lock MAV on Rogue, receive rMAV, lend it on money-markets or provide it in liquidity pools.Rogue locks MAV forever: it grants rMAV holders the maximum voting power without the need for constant lock extensions.
Example: you would need to extend your lock on Maverick every week to maitain your maximum voting power which is time and gas consuming. Rogue does it for you.On-chain voting-market: to encourage active participation in Maverick governance, Rogue has introduced a "bribe" mechanism. Protocols can offer incentives to rMAV holders to vote for their specific liquidity pool.
Example: lock MAV on Rogue, consult current bribes, vote for the pool with the highest yield and start earning.
Locking MAV on Rogue presents major improvements over veMAV:
Earn Maverick AMM trading fees in ETH
Earn MAV claimed by LPs on Rogue
Claim future veMAV airdrops.

For Rogue to make sense, it needs to align with Maverick’s deployment strategy.
We're eliminating the governance UX hurdles by respecting the Layer Zero OFT standard making rMAV natively omnichain.
Layer Zero is the foundational layer that connects various blockchains in a way that is transparent to the end-user and secure. We're enabling a unified governance experience that is both chain-agnostic and incredibly user-friendly.
Maverick's architecture is designed for optimal liquidity and incentive targeting. Rest assured, we will leverage this to maintain a stable rMAV/MAV peg. More insights on this will be shared in a future article.
