Web3. Creativity. +Sam.

Yo homies,

For all of its degenerate euphoria, renaissance creativity, and debilitating rug-pulls… web3 is still nascent, novel, and next-level.

That’s why I love it, and I love y'all.

Truly, it’s inspiring to both speak and work with you regularly, and I can’t overstate my gratitude for these relationships.

Having, luckily, been part of the “OG clubhouse” cohort, I’ve seen our friends carry the torch that has been a guiding light for many people the past 18 months.

As I’ve continued to observe, learn, create, and experiment, I have grown immensely as a designer, trader, builder, and leader... however, my attention has been fragmented…

At my deepest and most intimate level, I am an artist.

Why is this important?

Well, originally, I began writing this, for myself, to provide clarity on how I aim to move forward; however, I want share it with you — my supporters, fellow creators, collectors, and truthfully… my friends.

Here’s what I’ve got to say:

  1. I will be sticking with my real name “Sam Hayek,” — You all know me by this name. I have experimented with aliases and being anonymous, and while I see clear value in both… I’m deciding to bear the liability of being doxxed; in exchange for increased trust, for vulnerability, and my ability to interact authentically IRL.

  2. I’m making a public commitment to share more of my art, in all of it’s various media, strangeness, and emotions. — I’m most called toward creating music, and I will be releasing new tracks soon. — Fresh visual artwork is already on the way; and I intend to write more frequently. — There’s much more inside of me that wants to be expressed; and I’ve put it on the back-burner. This changes now.

  3. I will be reducing my time online, and will be less responsive. My health has suffered in the past 6 months as I’ve been beyond addicted to twitter in my attempts to keep up with the space. While I’ve learned a ton, I’m now prioritizing my sleep, physical training, diet, and mental health. This will give me much more bandwidth to be creatively productive, and I encourage you all to do the same. I apologize if DMs go unanswered, for those who have it, my personal phone number is always the best way to reach me.

  4. I'm minimizing the amount of new clients & consulting that I will be taking on. I love working with people, and helping solve problems… however I've stretched myself a bit thin and need to focus on my personal creative growth. -- That being said, I'm not entirely closed off in this regard; so if we've already had a prior conversation, or there's something you’re incredibly passionate about, don't hesitate to reach out. Just be mindful that the floor price on my time, energy, and attention, has indeed, been raised.

  5. I want to collaborate more with other artists, as it’s a ton of fun, and helps me improve in countless ways. If you want to make something dope together, or have a sick concept in mind, I definitely want to hear from you.

That’s the gist of it.

If you’ve been curious as to what I’m up to, or if you’re just now connecting with me for the first time, I hope this provides some context.

Also… low-key…

I’ve started planting seeds of a (music + web3) project that I’m working on.

A few of you have already received your invitation to the party…

A few of you will DM me asking about it.

It’s not a secret,

but it’s… you know…

maybe something.

With fire, Sam Hayek
