Hi there! My name is Sami and I’m a public relations (PR) consultant with a background in technology, politics and entertainment.
In 2019, I graduated from Cal Poly Pomona with a poli sci degree and pursued a career in political campaigning before entering the world of tech PR.
For the past three years, I worked with several B2C and B2B PR and marketing firms based in Los Angeles and Silicon Valley, representing executives from tech startups and billion-dollar fintech companies to some of the most recognizable web3 brands- developing and shaping their global reputation online and in mainstream media.
On the agency side, I collaborate with some of the brightest minds in the industry to develop and execute successful global media campaigns.
What is public relations and why is it important?
The Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) defines public relations as “a strategic communication process that builds mutually beneficial relationships between organizations and their publics.”
Essentially, it's a business of persuasion. PR experts leverage their relationships with the media and experience in storytelling to publicize their clients.
Many firms practice PR in conjunction with marketing forming a new method called integrated communications, which combines the four types of media coverage: earned, owned, shared and paid. I’ll dig into it later in this blog.
Why do successful companies invest in PR?
Increase brand credibility
Craft the right messaging to resonate with the target audience
Build/enhance a solid online presence
Influence public opinion of the company’s image

In addition, PR professionals work to secure coverage for their clients, feature them in top-tier media, manage the flow of information and much more. They engage clients within their community, involve them in the right conversation, and position them as thought leaders and industry drivers.
I created this blog to share some insights on public relations, decentralized finance and whatever else is on my mind. Stay tuned!
