The Microsoft edge browser for windows 10 / 11 can run faster. When users disable functions such as sleep tabs, if they open too many tabs, it may slow down the browser. In order to help users better understand performance problems, Microsoft is developing a “performance detector”.
This new feature detects performance problems and proposes reasonable solutions to windows 10 / 11 users. This feature complements the built-in efficiency mode of edge browser. Through efficiency mode, Microsoft plans to optimize network performance and response speed, which can be achieved by reducing the use of CPU, memory and battery. This feature uses the built-in sleep mode to solve performance problems and benefit users who run multiple browser tags with other applications or games.
The performance detector can detect performance problems caused by open tags, extensions, etc. Microsoft pointed out in the setting page of edge Canary: “when this function is turned on, the browser will detect the performance problem of the tag and recommend an action to fix it”. It is unclear how this function works, but it is possible that edge will notify users when a tag actively uses resources and disable functions such as sleep tags.
Similarly, Microsoft edge will detect potential problems with browser extensions and other functions and recommend actions to users. Microsoft will not modify the browser and only provide suggestions to users, which means that users can enable or disable the suggested function.
Microsoft is testing a new full screen mode button for edge. The new full screen mode can be enabled from the PDF browsing screen. The latest features of edge hide the toolbar and fill the screen with documents.
