Gorilla Behavior and Social Structure

Gorillas are highly intelligent and exhibit complex social behaviors. They live in close-knit family groups led by a dominant silverback male, named for the distinctive silver-colored hair on their backs. The silverback is responsible for protecting and leading the group, which includes adult females (known as "blackbacks" when younger), juveniles, and infants. Gorillas communicate through various vocalizations, body postures, and gestures, showing empathy and understanding within their groups.
