Welcome to our 49th edition of the Artist Spotlight Series, where we highlight artists from different backgrounds, mediums, and blockchains.
This edition’s featured artists include:
Jessica Cardelucci (Photographer)
Tim Burgess (Aerial Photographer)
Jed Forster (Travel Photoographer)
Quinn Slocum (Adventure Photographer)
Michelle Moree (Aerial Photographer)
Jessica Cardelucci is a photographer from California creating evocative black-and-white photographs exploring the intricate dance between humanity and the natural world.
Her images, whether serene seascapes, wild horses, or intimate portraits, convey a deep understanding of and connection to her subjects.
Plate 3, Wildfire Sky is a moment in time when the destructive power of nature was both powerful and beautiful. The haunting effect of a nearby wildfire fills the sky with ash and obscures the sun.
Tim Burgess, aka Timmboslice, is an aerial photographer and firefighter based in Canberra, Australia, with a strong passion for combining the unique compositions of drone photography with the textures of the ocean.
The Dark Knight represents the darkest night in someone's life, which may be the brightest day in another's. We can choose to make good things out of every challenging circumstance. In contrast, we can also choose to see nothing in a creative opportunity.
Jed Forster is a travel photographer with an insatiable desire to discover and document the most beautiful places on earth—capturing dramatic imagery of remote landscapes through sustainable human interactions within those landscapes.
Nubilum Montibus (cloudy mountain) is an homage to the dark and cloudy days in the mountains, where light crept through the mist, washing over the snow-covered summit.
Quinn Slocum is an adventure photographer and alpinist based in the US, capturing imagery of vast arctic landscapes on land and at sea, conveying feelings of isolation through exploration.
Subzero is an image taken while on a boat, where Quinn’s lens fit through a hole on the sidewall, providing a composition that feels like you could touch the water.
For this piece, with patience, clouds rolled in, the ocean went calm, and a lonely glacier stood proud in the distance, expressing the balance of beauty, patience, and chaos.
Michelle Moree, aka MEESH, is a Seattle-based landscape and aerial photographer with a divergent interpretation of remote, obscure, and otherworldly landscapes, which she composes in a colorful, ethereal motif.
At first glance, UNINHABITED may be confused with an abstract painting or a 3D render. These are the contrasting natural wonders that are the glacial river braids of Iceland.
It’s common for glacial meltwater to form braided streams on outwash plains, called sandurs—composed of various dark basaltic volcanic material, which create their dynamic inexpressible combination of colors, lines, patterns, and textures.
