We’ll talk about the issue that most Z generation can’t close their eyes on now – the war refugee crisis and blockchain dApps that will help you survive fleeing your country.

The Eastern European refugees are not the ones who have been failed by the governments of their countries and tried to leave their homelands. Almost 200 hundreds illegal crossings were recorded at the external borders of the EU in 2021, and these numbers are just the beginning of the mass migration in the region.

Russian war has contributed to domestic migration to Western Europe and North Caucasus. The people forced to flee lack the knowledge and tools to support themselves financially: sanctions, withdrawal limits, and half-baked laws are the main roadblocks of modern refugees.

Leaving is hard, but staying is harder. Let’s check the crypto knowledge base you have to learn when fleeing out of your country:

• Get a cold crypto wallet to keep your funds safe even if you are offline or you have a malfunctioning cell phone. Cold wallets are an effective measure against phishing and crypto thefts.

• Check if you can utilize your debit cards to use decentralized crypto exchanges to receive, exchange, and send money. Choosing decentralized blockchain services is essential to prevent them from being sanctioned by an authority or regulator. Your funds can be safer like that.

• Make sure you know how to withdraw your crypto in your target area. Check crypto ATMs worldwide and save the addresses (you will need it if you are offline.)

• Learn how to get passive income in crypto to get additional funds in the long run. There are many opportunities in Web3: staking, liquid staking, and liquidity provision.

• Start learning crypto actively and Web3 now. This knowledge will allow you to be ahead of disasters and extract financial value from Web3 services.

Still, you’re not good enough at theoretical crypto things, so it’s time for practice. We’ll check the list of dApps and blockchain services to use for a modern refugee:

• Binance refugee card. You can get a Binance refugee card to buy crypto and pay in fiat services if you are a Ukrainian national. In most cases, we do not advise you to use the services of centralized exchanges, but this card might be an exception.

• Speaking of exchanges: as we mentioned, it’s safer to use a decentralized exchange (architecturally, politically, and logically) than the centralized one because the first can be sanctioned, and it’s easier to steal money from there. Try PancakeSwap and Uniswap.

• Get yourself a crypto debit card. You better get a card for the decentralized service to pay for products. Try the Coinbase card, it allows users to spend both crypto and cash.
