Cetus Protocol

Introducing Cetus Protocol: a pioneer dex and liquidity protocol built on Aptos blockchain. It focuses on delivering the best trading experience and superior capital efficiency to DeFi users through the process of building its concentrated liquidity protocol and a series of affiliate functional modules.

It is speculated that testing their protocol could make one eligible for possible future airdrops. So, let’s learn how to perform two basic functionalities of the protocol that may be important for airdrop eligibility: i. Swapping tokens and ii. Providing liquidity.Β

Before anything, we need a wallet. Martian wallet is one popular wallet we can use for this purpose. Install the extension from below on your chrome browser. https://martianwallet.xyz/

After you have installed the Martian Wallet, create a new account, and save your seed phrase safely in case you might need to retrieve your account in future. The wallet will look like this after properly set up.

We need to fund this wallet with tokens. One easy way to get this is swap/buy APT token from centralized exchange like Kucoin and send it to the address of your Martian Wallet.

Copy the wallet address to deposit the tokens into the wallet as shown below (red arrow). Also, make sure the network is selected as Aptos Mainnet (green arrow).

Send the tokens to the copied address from exchanges like Kucoin where you can purchase the tokens APT. You need to select Aptos Network while sending the APT from Kucoin wallet. After you have successfully deposited the tokens in the wallet, it will be appear in the Martian Wallet. Now, let’s we move on to the next stage.

Open the website https://app.cetus.zone/ and connect the wallet. Make sure the network selected is Aptos.

Select Martian Wallet and click approve. You have now successfully connected your wallet to the website.

Now go to β€œswap” tab. Select APT on the top and zUSDC at the bottom. You may choose to swap to any coins but for this example let’s swap to zUSDC as we will use this to provide liquidity. You can input any amount of APT, leaving some for-gas fees. I have chosen to swap 0.1 APT in the example below. Don’t worry, the gas fees in APTOS is very cheap. 1 APT can last for hundreds of transactions.

Click swap, confirm swap and approve the transaction.

Wait for the transaction to go through. A msg will appear confirming the swap has been done. Now you can see your tokens in the wallet. You will see APT and zUSDC in the wallet. That’s it. You have successfully swapped your coins from APT to zUSDC.

Now let’s provide liquidity!Β

Click the Pools tab. You will see many different token pairs. We will select the first pool APT-zUSDC as we only have these tokens in our wallet. Click Add liquidity.

Now, input the number of APT tokens you would like to deposit in the pool. The equivalent number of zUSDC will be automatically calculated. We need an equal number of two tokens to provide liquidity. In this example it is APT and zUSDC. So, when you input the number of APT tokens, the number of zUSDC will be automatically calculated. Β Now, click β€˜add to the pool’.

Click β€˜confirm supply’ and approve the transaction. Wait a moment and your liquidity will be shown after the transaction is successful.

You could choose to remove the liquidity or add more at any time. For this, you click again on the pools tab. You will see your position with the option to β€œadd” or β€œremove”. You could proceed with either option depending on what you want to do.

And that’s it! All the best
